Waiting to see how Bell fucks up another season is not smart.

I lost track of how the playoffs are working this year and what all they modified. Who will they likely be facing in the first round? Still best of 7?
Reds need the Brewers to win the final 2 against the Cards in order to finish ahead. The 2 games that the Cards missed earlier in the season will only be played if they are needed to see who makes the playoffs or for home field, not just for seeding. That’s kinda BS to me. Everyone should be playing the same number of games, no matter what.

This is current as of this morning.
Wild Card Series (begin Tuesday)
Best-of-three format, with higher seed serving as the home team for all three gamesAL matchups
No. 8 Blue Jays vs. No. 1 Rays
No. 7 White Sox vs. No. 2 A's
No. 6 Astros vs. No. 3 Twins
No. 5 Yankees vs. No. 4 IndiansNL matchups
No. 8 Giants vs. No. 1 Dodgers
No. 7 Reds vs. No. 2 Braves
No. 6 Marlins vs. No. 3 Cubs
No. 5 Cardinals vs. No. 4 Padres
So the Reds are on the road no matter what for the Wild Card. I would prefer them to play the Braves, I guess.
Being on the road with no fans though....incredible difference for playoffs!

Never really thought about that. Outside of piped in crowd noise there really won't be any sort of home field energy from an actual crowd.
I was at a golf weekend team draft last night, one of the guys is a Braves fan, and he wants nothing to do with the Reds in the first round.
Biggest advantage of home-field this season comes in the batting second portion. Particularly for extra innings with the man starting on 2nd base.
Yeah, I wish that was removed for the playoffs. That rule sucks.

I just found this:
Will extra innings continue to feature an automatic runner at second base?
No, that rule was only in effect for the 2020 regular season and will not be in place for the postseason. Extra innings will begin with none on, none out.

Good to know!
Sweet.

Yeah but each team gets 9 AB....Reds playing Twins now, no noise but in a playoff atmosphere you can’t hear anything.
Reds @ Braves Wednesday
Cy candidates square off
Reds win 2-0.
