2020 MLB Thread

So many teams around here are the “Indians” for their high school mascot

Indians owner should sell and sell to someone rich enough and loves Cleveland and that buyer should first legally change his last name to Indian and then buy team and name them after himself.

Quaker upon hearing this news:

Oh my.  I guess the day has finally come. 

I can take it, but I’m a little sad.  It’s just going to push me away from baseball a little bit more.

As an old man, I don’t give a shit about a lot of stuff that used to be important to me. 

I’ll always keep my avatar.  My son drew it for me free hand.  He’s going to be pissed about this announcement.

Seems like they could’ve dropped the Wahoo logo. Even the name, but appeased everyone and gone with simply Tribe. 

But yeah, I simply don’t care. They are my team no matter the name.

I agree with your sentiment.  You could see that this day was eventually going to come.  It'll be a long, long time before Wahoo hats and Indians jerseys quit appearing at games.  But in the scheme of things, it's not the hill I care to die on.

Your son's drawing is great.  I always assumed you avatar was a professional logo you just copy/pasted.  Pretty nice.

Yeah, damn. I never actually read the words, just looked at the Wahoo and assumed it was a legit logo copied from Google. Reading the words I can see how the Tribe would’ve never put it out there though lol

Looks like they will remain the Indians through this season. And Tribe is not an option. 

I expect the new nickname to include all the letters in the old nickname so The Dolans can reuse the huge sign over  the scoreboard. We all knew the day was coming but they are still my team whatever the nickname.

Was sent an ESPN Link indicating that Vizquel is caught up in domestic violence allegations.

Major League Baseball is officially reclassifying the Negro leagues as a "major" league, thereby officially incorporating Negro league stats into MLB's records.  This is a great move and long overdue.
