Not being a dick, but why would you think you’re better at grading an OT than Thomas? I’ll take his grade over almost anyones

I don't think I'm better but he also said last year that Greg Robinson was a "franchise LT." That, along with the fact he ranks Becton as the best fit for their scheme, is the only reason I made that comment. You'd think since he was one of the best on the field he'd be able to have a solid idea of players at his position. Not being a dick, but do you honestly agree that G-Rob is a franchise LT?

He made one bad prediction (Greg Robinson), and you think he’s not fit to grade tackles?

A lot of Trent Williams chatter over the last few hours. Rivera has said he'd like another 3rd or 4th going into tomorrow's draft. I'd have no issue throwing the later 3rd rounder at the Skins but Williams' contract and injury history are a big concern. Williams is likely better than any LT in this draft, just much older.

I would do a 3rd in a second.

Is 31 actually old for a lineman? I feel the good ones are effective until 35ish. Plus, I dont expect the Browns to be siging him to a long-term deal. Probably a stopgap type signing. And Ive never heard Trent Williams described as anything but dependable on the injury front...

Tons of nagging stuff, but he rarely misses a game. Only 1 surgery in his life, I believe.

Current rumor I am seeing is a 3rd or 4th this year PLUS our 2nd in next years draft.

Just draft best OL available at 10, and don’t get cute. It’s tough to draft a bad O lineman in the top 10 (at least recently). Just grab whoever’s best available, I know that’s a crazy concept for Browns front office but it’s the best one.

Being a great player and a great talent evaluator aren't closely related skill sets.

I saw pieces of Dane's mock and seems like he has the impression that their top two guys are Simmons or Thomas, otherwise trade down. Was surprised that they traded down to 18 with Wirfs on the board (who Miami ended up drafting with the 10 pick).

And no (not referencing you), you don't take ANY O-Lineman just to take one. Of those top 4 (Wirfs, Thomas, Wills & Becton) one or more of those guys will likely bust or underachieve.

I think you take one of those 4 OLmen. It’s a loaded o line class, I think all 4 of them are good enough to play LT. Fills a hole, and helps protect baker for the next decade.
I'm slightly concerned by Becton’s drug test, but it’s never been an issue before so hoping it’s not a huge factor.

Wirfs has been projected by a few to be a future All-Pro guard. That wouldn't kill me but still need someone to protect BM's backside.

Nothing to really do with what you said, but it reminded me that I think Wyatt teller is going to have a pretty good year at RG for the browns this year. It’ll help to be covered up by tretter and Conklin, but I really think he’s a quality guard that wasn’t able to show that last year.

I think they might move Hubbard to RG for the exact same reason you mentioned, protection from Conklin & Tretter. I just think Hubbard is terrible out on an island, in space. Otherwise, I can't see why they would keep his bum ass when he could free up more cap space.

I don’t want Becton at 10. If they trade down and can grab him later, fine. But I’d rather go defense at 10 than Becton. His pass blocking scares me. And I’d rather have that than run blocking from LT, especially since I want to evaluate Baker as a passer once and for all this season.

Ideally, just trade for Trent Williams with a 3rd. Then take Simmons or Brown if one falls.

Rivera said that he wants another 3rd or 4th. The Skins would be idiots not to part with a guy who doesn't want to play for them.

Apparently you and I are missing something because Joe Thomas, a highly respected HOF head coach (forgot the name, was working out and concentrating on that) and now John Greco are all saying that Becton should be the pick at 10 and he's the best scheme fit. I get that the dude is a mauler in the run game, and has worked in a wide zone blocking scheme, but his weight is concerning whether he can sustain it over long periods of time against superior competition.

Football Chopz@Pchopz_

.@TomPelissero just said on TV that the Redskins won't be able to get a 2nd round pick for Trent Williams. Maybe a 3rd. Maybe a 4th.

Tom Pelissero is a decent source.
