WOW

Big play at a critical time.  No hitter now gone, Sanchez rightfully relieved, and after 8 shut-out preserved.

I'm liking the Nats much more now that Dusty is gone and the overpaid, arrogant Harper is gone.

If you are televising a playoff game and it’s a big moment late and Trae Turner scores from 1st on a double....you show his ass flying around the bases, at least on the replay. Smh TBS

Not that the Griffey Jr score in 1995 was any fun

Per Fox News(citing ESPN)...LA Angels Director of Communication claims that he supplied opioids to Skaggs. Also said he believes that 5 other players used.

That double hit the wall and stopped dead instead of deflecting into fair territory as you would expect and I'm sure that was why he was able to score, but all we could see was that he was flying as he approached the plate.  Would have loved to have seen him rounding 2nd and 3rd!

And Correa's 1st pitch no doubt oppo walk-off HR is the final blow the 3-2 11th inning win to send the series to NY tied 1-1.

Top of the 7th and the Astros have no out and Springer on 3rd and Altuve on 1st, and Brantley hits a chopper to LeMahieu who immediately notices Springer is hung up between 3rd and home.  LeMahieu does exactly the right thing and runs at Springer to a point just toward home from where Springer is so that Springer can either run into LeMahieu for an out(leaving runners on 1st and 2nd), stand there and let LeMahieu tag him(hopefully too late to then throw to 3rd to get the streaking Altuve coming in for a double play), go directly back to 3rd to get tagged on a throw from LeMahieu(keeping the runners on 1st and 2nd), or delay his return to 3rd to try to time it to be at the same time Altuve is coming in so Urshela can tag one of them(leaving runners on 2nd and 3rd and one out).  Springer wisely chose the latter and motioned Altuve to come on to 3rd.  Then the timing and accuracy of the throw to 3rd and the positioning of Urshela is critical to try to make 2 tags in short order for the DP, knowing that if he misses both of them, he can just tag one of them and they get one out at least.

So as the play unfolded Springer and Altuve decided they(with a 2-0 lead and wanting to be aggressive) were going to risk giving up a DP to try for runners on 2nd and 3rd and just one out.  So this critical play which could have been really exciting and contested was ruined by Urshela being oblivious to the set-up and he didn't even get in position and the well timed toss from LeMahieu went for naught as Urshela tagged Springer and Altuve came in safely and uncontested shortly after, and the Astros had won the play, and were set up to add the two runs they did on to the lead and pretty much sealed their win in game 3.

The stress of the big moments seemingly too much for the Cards!

Nats up 7-4 going to the 9th.Seems like the Cards have had the bases loaded every inning since the 5th but have done no damage. I am alright with this.

Nats get the 4th game for the series win before the weather moves in tomorrow and will get 6 days rest before the opening game of the world series in the AL park.  They'll get the 3 weekend games in DC.
