I think this is awesome. If TCU and Boise would have done stuff like this, maybe we would have a playoff now.

They aren't the first to do it. There's precedent set.
Did you guys see the LSU defensive coordinator just signed a new contract for $2.5 million per year. College football has lost the plot.

No, they would just look equally stupid.
Meaningless banner, meaningless PARADE. LOL.

Why do people like you get so upset over someone making a lot of money?
What's the plot?

not meaningless......makes NCAA playoff comittee look like idiots

UCF has grown into the largest university passing Ohio State and Texas-Austin. They have well over 60,000 undergrad students now. Their resources are growing significantly and consistent efforts to highlight successes all lead to a longer term effort to push this football program into the big money bowls/business that is college football. Claiming a national championship isn't meaningless. It's one peice.
An interesting note was that the athletic department paid their assistant coaches the contractual bonuses for winning the "National Championship". They didn't pay Scott Frost any more because he capped out is contractual opportunities.

No, it makes UCF look like try hards.
0-12
6-7
13-0, 54th ranked hardest schedule.
Faux National Championship. LOL
What they should do, is hire another coach, beef up the schedule, and maintain the success. That's how you get recognized.
Florida INternational is on a massive growth surge too. They are going to be interesting to watch with regards to their efforts in resources applied to their football program.I think they are approaching 50,000 undergrad students.
Their next step needs to be conference change. Let's face it. AAC will not get you anything. If you really want the recognition, then jump on in with the big dogs.

What conference takes them? Florida won't want them in the SEC. Miami and FSU won't want them in the ACC.
Nobody else really makes sense geographically.

Big 12.
But it doesn’t matter. They won’t have another season like this anytime soon...if ever.

, beef up the schedule,
I immediately thought, hey they should schedule Mercer.
Rich Rod. Epic fail.

Still gotta try. Those two conferences make the most sense. Screw Florida, Miami, and FSU as well. If UCF is good for your conference, add them.

I'm not upset at all about it. I just think it is interesting that the defensive coordinator for a school's football team makes about 20X the salary of the state's governor.

It once was amateur athletics for college students.

Again, why are you so concerned with someone’s salary?

I'm not concerned about it at all. I'm making an observation about priorities at colleges and universities. If this guy worked in the NFL and made $1 billion, I would say more power to him.
