Fucking Guardians are gonna hang onto Beiber, watch him balloon to a 4th starter with a 4+ ERA, and then trade him 365 days for a single A player, aren’t they?

…when they could’ve dealt him in the last few weeks for major league ready power bat.

Nice to see Bo get his first homer. Division is trash.

Is the division so bad that baseball realigns?

Guardians would be up 10 games if Tito could construct a lineup and manage in game better. And if the FO didnt jack everyone around for 2 years now.

Bell couldn’t do a lineup but rolled off that big streak. One of our hottest and best hitters vs lefties he batted 9th yesterday and he had 3 hits. India is 6 for his last 45 but he will not move him from the 3 hole

Game we got mauled by Orioles Spencer Steer (our most consistent player and solid at all aspects)….he batted 5th and drove in all 3 runs snd had 3 hits, everyone else was bad…next game Steer bats 7th because a righty was pitching….Steer had a higher OB% vs righties than lefties

Guardians front office saving Tito from himself. He wouldn't stop batting Amed 2-hold and playing him SS, so they shipped him off for an innings eater with a 7+ ERA. Thor has had injuries, and maybe he can come back and be serviceable, but the main takeaway is that Amed is gone and we can finally move forward.

If your offense gets it together and can give him the same run support that Cincinnati gives that Luke Weaver dude, sure. If not, get used to 4.1, 6ER in an 8-1 loss. Dude is shot.

He will be the 5th starter, but ultimately an innings eater. The rookies are all on innings limits. I wouldnt be opposed to seeing if he can reclaim some magic out of the pen. Take everything you've got and go 1 inning.

So they finally pulled the trigger.

8 months late. But whatever. Excited for them to fuck around with Arias and he turns into Yandy, Aguilar, Nolan Jones, Benson, etc all because Tito refused to see what he had consistently in favor of a very subpar player in Amed.

We have 5 (really 6) SS who will be or already are MLB ready by 2024. Arias, Freeman, Rocchio, Martinez, Tena, and Brito (who is 2B only, but would push Gimenez to SS). We quite literally have no clue if any of them are the long term answer and just going to move on from like 3-4 of them on a hunch. All so Amed could just keep stealing ABs playing everyday batting 2nd. Very frustrating.

This was a win. Dude can rake. Civale is having a career stretch, and he is often injured.

I wouldn’t look at his average, I’d look at his walk rate, k rate, hard hit percentage, exit velocity. This screams Yandy, with better peripherals, better glove, and more advanced fly ball ability.

By all accounts, he is the best pure hitter outside of Jackson Holliday, in the top portion of the minors. And if we are being honest, Civale projects to be the 4th or 5th starter next season.

We always hear about these great position players, and they rarely develop. Other than Ramirez (who wasn't even a top prospect) and Lindor for a few years, which position player prospects have made it? I can name several who have missed.

We don't know what Civale will be next year, but there is a good chance that our new first baseman is in Columbus. As far as this year, we are currently 0.5 games out with an early lead tonight, and we trade away our only veteran starter who is having a great season. This division is winnable, and we became a worse team today.

So you win the division and go get trounced in the playoffs? Who cares?! Manzardo projects to have the potential to be a middle of the order stick that has been wanted and needed.

Civale wasn't going to help this team win a world series this year let alone a playoff series. He's not part of the future rotation either. You have got Bibee, Allen, Williams, McKenzie, Espino/Cantillo.

We'll see how it plays out, but remember that Reyes, Bradley, Jones, and Diaz (and probably several other guys that I am forgetting at the moment) were all supposed to be big sticks in the middle of our lineup and were all big time busts. I'm not opposed to trading Civale if it helps the team, but we just got worse today.

Well, 90% of that is on our organization and the hitting approach. Because everyone you mentioned, aside from Jones and Yandy, plus others like Benson/Aguilar/Urshela, etc have thrived once they get out of our fucking ridiculous instructions toon of contact and no power. Not to mention Diaz from Houston who we decided wasn’t as good a hitter as ???

I agree that Diaz for Straw was a stupid trade, then we double down and give Straw a big contract that we are now stuck with. I guess we'll see if anything happens tomorrow before the deadline, but it's disappointing that the only guy that we brought in so far was Thor.
