Shots fired at Trump rally

Ok, so the livestream I watched earlier has been segmented and I've found the pertinent video that shows what I brought up earlier.

That clip clearly shows the snipers ready, fingers on trigger, already scoping the guy and then they wait until he fired first. Now, unless the timing was off somehow - which came easily be the case - it's a pretty alarming vid to me.

That is something I was wondering about, too. Didn't seem like the shooter was super-concealed or anything, so it seemed bizarre to me that at a big event featuring a prominent politician, things progressed as far as they did.

Agreed. I can't stand Trump, he is a narcissistic asshole. I have voted for him zero times in primaries as I thought he was the worst R candidate all 3 times. But political assassinations are never a good thing.

Anyone (I have seen none on here, but plenty on social media) who is even a little sad that the shooter missed, is worse of a person than they believe Trump to be.

But just as there are nut jobs on the left, there are plenty of nut jobs on the "MAGA" side that would have caused insane problems if that bullet had been 1/2" one way.

I have heard the far left (progressives) call the "vote blue no matter who" types  as Blue Maga/Blue Anon. They don't really like the talk obsessing about threat to democracy types. In fact, they argue that the establishment on the left and right aren't different at all. 

With the advent of Trump, I can't disagree.

I haven’t seen it but I only need to be on X for a few minutes before being overwhelmed with everyone screaming conspiracies or assigning blame. Need a social media blackout for a bit. 

The combination of social media making anyone think they have a legit voice and politics both getting super-divisive and getting pushed to the extent that every single election of any sort is the single most important one in the history of the country really works to make things insufferable. Way too many twats out there thinking they're some sort of poli-influencer, meaning they'll constantly go over the top to portray their guy some sort of god-like legend, while making it seem like anyone who might even vote the other way is totally all in favor of every single horrible thing they can manufacture in their brains.

I have a friend who hates Trump talking about the usual bullshit of moving to Canada if he wins and ask what I'm doing. I said well of course I don't want Trump to win... I think he's the greatest stain on American Political History...  but lets be honest... I'm an upper middle class guy... him winning isn't gonna hurt me in the least. 

my daughter's friends from Peter's Township are cousins with the shooter apparently. Unreal that all this happened. I can't wait for 11/5 and this bullshit to be over with forever.

This was a complete and utter failure by those tasked with protecting Trump. They knew the guy was on the roof for something like 2 minutes before the first shots were fired. How do they not get Trump off of the stage within a few seconds of seeing someone up on an unsecured roof? And, again, why the fuck was the roof unsecured? The absolute best vantage point for taking a shot at Trump and it's not completely locked down?

You actually think it's going to be over with, let alone forever? Way too many over-politicized nuts who live on social media and watch/listen to whatever media outlet mirrors their views so they can exist in a purely black-n-white "we're good, they're evil and that's that!" world for things to turn back to normal just because one geriatric wins (or "wins" because I think we all know that whatever happens on 11/5, people on the losing side will run to their favorite boogeyman, whether it be "voter suppression" or "it was stolen") over the other in November.

People are dumbasses. I’ve seen a handful of posts of people getting fired today for stupid shit they posted after this.

Also, why the fuck is Biden reverting right back to the "threat to democracy" rhetoric? Are his speech writers that tone deaf? There's about 20 of them. Not one of the more experienced writer could intervene with saying something like "hey, maybe we need to edit this sentence out or rephrase it to something more innocuous?"

Was this truly a "failure" by the secret service or them just turning the other cheek? 

Nowhere in history, when there was an assassination (or attempt), did bystanders point at a Lee Harvey Oswald or John Hinckley Jr and yell "there's a guy with a gun up on the roof, do SOMETHING !!!" (like was the case with Trump) WARNING the SS about the shooter, only for them to freeze up. From the slow to react snipers to the out of shape SS workers doing a shitty job getting Trump off the stage, this whole thing was a clusterfuck. If any of those involved have a job today, they're very lucky.

MSNBC took Morning Joe off the air today, allegedly they were afraid they would say something stupid about the attempt.

It's being leaked that MSNBC pulled their morning show because they were nervous that somebody on that panel or one of their guests would say something inappropriate. The network says that they just wanted to focus on the ongoing news breaks.
