Adding in property tax. What a bunch of BS. Also, not sure how it's handled in other states but in my area of CA, you're locked into property value at the time of purchase. So you bought your house in 1960, you pay taxes on the 1960 value. Basically incentives no one to move and fucks every new owner. As they have to raise property taxes extremely high for new owners to get same amount of money. Where if anyone paid market rate, on a whole every owner would be better off.

CA gonna CA

I know some guys who fish who swear by them. Can go on multi-day trips and not worry about losing any of the catch.

That's because the fish are dead and in a box, they can't run off.

I look at those Yeti big ass coolers for like $999 and SMH.

Bag of ice and styrofoam or cheap ass cooler has always worked well for BRF.

Sure styrofoam and ice will last if it just sits beside your lazy boy

Bottled water

When it came out (early 90s?) I thought it was the dumbest thing I had ever heard of.

I agree.

And on the Yeti thing. To each their own. I learned a side of it I hadn't heard.

Speaking of water: The fucking filter tube/cartridge on the fridge.

$50 every 6 months.

I don't think I've ever bought an appliance warranty.

Recently got a laser printer because I got tired of the stupid ink cartridges drying out and dying from lack of use.  Too many times I needed to print something and couldn't.  Cartridges in laser printer last much, much longer since it's just a dry powder.

Cable television.  Because of what our family watches (which is not much), we can't make the break yet.  But for basically 3-4 channels we use, we pay for several hundred.  When will they accept reality and go to a model where you buy only the specific channels you want?

IMHO Home Defense Spider Spray simply does not live up to the claims on the packaging.

Get streaming service. What channels do you watch?

Streaming service works great for us, but mostly b/c I use my parent's login for sports.  Take that away and I lose access to:

ESPN

Fox Sports

NBC Sports

TNT/TBS
