But If i had to guess I would say that Slow Danny would be on my list

I wouldn't consider her a secondary character. 

She was early on and I loved her character immediately......her role increased

Janice on Friends

Loved Howard on The Bob Newhart Show.

Tobias Funke, analrapist.

Not for this Rushmore topic, but I just watched a random episode of Home Improvement that featured Dave Chappelle coming out of the audience for a scene with Tim and Al. I looked it up and it was his 4th acting gig.

Definitely primary characters. Unless you're just counting Frasier from Cheers.

I did mean Frasier from Cheers.

As for a replacement for Michael Scott, I'd go Troy Barnes from Community.  Donald Glover's character steals the show while he's on it, and while the show could have survived Chevy Chase leaving, Glover leaving was the death knell.

Yeah, I missed the 'Secondary' part of the title.

I loved that show, too.  It was on re-run by that time, but it was a great show.
