Are these Blackstone Griddles really just $250-$300 or am I looking at the wrong thing? That seems cheap for how you all are talking about it,
posted by Laley23I made a killer burger the other night. Half the ingredients on the grill. Burger, cheese, jalapeno, pineapple and bacon in oven, then finished on the grill the last ~5'. Then fresh ingredients were avocado, onion, and a chipotle/avocado aoili. Could also grill the onions, but I prefer them raw.
It’s just hard to beat a really good burger. Infinite ways to enjoy and we aren’t cooking out tonight but now I want a burger.

Mine was $400 but came assembled, with hinged lid and full outdoor grill cover.
Most don’t have the hinged lidNice. My grill is still in great shape despite 2 moves and almost 6 years of service. But I'll be looking into one when the time comes. I love a griddle...so many more things you can cook on them.
That thing is nice.
Anybody cooking anything for the 4th? Gonna try a pork butt. Might try to cut it in half and do one the normal way and one in a burnt end style. Add some pickled onions and good to go.
I saw a good looking video the other day of Brie wrapped in prosciutto smoked but we already have too much food.
Might smoke a brisket I've got in the freezer. I think it's just a flat, but should be fine for just my wife and I.

Same. Plus corn and pineapple. May try and make some jalapeño poppers, but gonna be tight on if they are ready. All this rain and no sun killed the growth for about a week. Have about 10 that are close though.
posted by Ironman92Chopped up some chicken breasts and sliced up potatoes and just played on the Blackstone. So quick and easy and pain free. I was worried at first as chicken quickly stuck to grill but just spatula’d it over gave it a little stir fry type action. Couldn’t believe how quickly it got to temp and was very good.
Was nervous about barbecuing but so far grill has done everything I’ve wanted it to
Kroger has some decent shaved steak, Buffalo chicken, and pork that makes for an easy meal on the blackstone

So far everything has been easy but yes that would be good.
I’m still enamored by how good the eggs were after cooking bacon on there first….it was a “wow” moment

At the end of the season you can usually find a 28” for $100 buy that and a hard and soft cover for it for less then $200 and you will be hooked.
I have a 36” Pro Series it’s nice because it has a place for a trash bag and paper towel holder attached to it. It also has holders for your cooking utensils and a hinged lid. The hard lid is the only thing you 100% would want to add to the $100 version the rest is nice but not necessary.

Back during my college years I worked at McDonalds and they had the best scraper and squeegee. Can’t find one as good…I may have to hit up my buddy who owns 3 of them (McDonalds)

I have the blackstone ones and they are okay lmk if the McDonald’s ones are better and hook me up lol
What did you season with... first seasoning I did avocado oil and now I use Pam spray before I cook and reseason with blackstone seasoning after I’m done

I just used canola oil or whatever was in the cabinet. I spread it on before my first use….turned all burners on for about 10-15 minutes until the smoke burned off….repeated 2 more times and then shut it off and spread some more oil on it. First use went great and 2nd even better. I haven’t sprayed it before use yet and when stuff has stuck it scrapes right off with their spatulas and hasn’t affected anything so far.
But I’m seriously going to ask about the old school McDonald's scraper and squeegee….I have no clue if they still use them but I knew how to make those grills shine and I’m still cautious to not ass up mine….but I’m not sure you really can. I’ll get back with you if I have any success getting the McDonald's stuff.
LOTS of Blackstone's at Lowe's today. The 30" might actually fit on our patio without overwhelming it. It seemed pretty easy to move around as well.
