I'm sure we've had this discussion before over the years but let's talk about it again.

What's your favorite halloween candy?

This is tough, because it's not necessarily the best candy like 3 musketeers or maybe twizzlers...

For halloween, and for nostalgia, I always liked that shitty candy corn.  But best would have to be something I wouldn't normally get, or that my mom wouldn't let me have....so maybe pixie sticks, smarties or dots.

Maybe for that pure sugar fix, I'll go with the sweet tarts (the ones that came 3 in a small pack).

My earliest favorite was the standard Hershey chocolate bar, because I lusted after it in the checkout line each week when my parents went grocery shopping.  A few years later, Three Musketeers took over my top spot.

Nowadays, any chocolate-rice crunch bar, like Krackel or Nestle's Crunch.  Any kid that comes knocking at my door with those fundraiser booster bars had better have plenty of the choco-crunch variety, because I'll buy him out.  And if I buy any to hand out to trick-or-treaters, I'm going to be setting one aside every few minutes just for me.

It’s admittedly not good. But I buy 3 bags a year in October and snack on it thru Halloween. I love it. I don’t know why. It almost has to be because of the pure sugar rush nostalgia from my childhood.

I love candy corn, but I don’t consider that “Halloween candy”.

Interesting. I’d actually put it as the most associated Halloween candy there is. I understand you don’t get it to hand out, but it’s basically only sold this time of year, and is all over the place.

For some reason, I also associate it with Thanksgiving.  Maybe that's when stores try to dump whatever candy corn they have left in stock.

Oh I agree with that for sure. But when I think Halloween candy, I think about what you give out/get for trick or treating.
