I figured this thread would be a doozy. My wife just stopped bf our baby and if she did have to bf out (not often) she would use a cover up (milk snob maybe?). My opinion is, I don't care what a woman wants to do, I probably wouldn't do it if it were me and wouldn't want my wife to just be out there, but to each their own.

So I have to see men's titties every time I leave the house in the summer, but a woman who is feeding her baby should cover up. Got it.

I am sorry that current societal norms are hard for you to understand, but yes society views a man’s chest different than a woman’s chest with current modesty standards.

See, I can be condescending and facetious as well.

Personally  I agree with you, I never want to see a fat dudes tits. However reality is an “in shape” man walking down the street with no shirt on is different than an “in shape” woman doing the same. It’s our current societal norms.

Also, the main reason societal modesty standards are different for a woman’s chest vs a man’s chest is quite obvious to anyone who is not a virgin. A woman’s chest is a normal part of a sexual encounter,a man’s chest is not.

Perhaps the only way to change these norms is to normalize breastfeeding.

Breastfeeding is normalized, it was the only way to feed a baby for hundreds of thousands of years. Only recently (time scale wise) has other forms been invented.

If you want societal norm to change then you have to de-sexualize a breast, to do that you need to change both a woman’s and a man’s biology. Men are wired to like breasts, women actually have more nerve endings on their breast than a man and that is why they like them “used” during sex in various ways.

No more gym shorts or sweatpants in public if women can walk around topless, but it's a tradeoff I'm willing to make.

I do. If it was normal, no one would care if they saw a breast while a woman fed her child.

Nope.  The percentage of men or women that should be topless in public is small.  The amount of men that should not wear tank tops or women that should be allowed to wear yoga pants is also very small.

That should wear tank tops? If so, I agree, most guys are either too fat or too skinny for tank tops. That said, I bought my first tank top since I was a teenager for our trip to the Dominican last month and wore it while out and about in Cincinnati last weekend.

Back in my maple syrup chugging days I wouldn't have dared. Speaking of man-boobs...

Not true at all, breastfeeding already IS normal, it is the normal way of feeding a child.

Exposing a breast in public is what is NOT normal.

My wife breastfed in public without exposing herself and without covering the babies face, it REALLY isn't that hard with modern clothing specifically designed for breastfeeding.

Agree with this. There's no reason to see a man's breasts, but babies have to eat.

Women don't like to see Male breasts? Legs turn me on, does that mean women should cover their legs?

I think people are too hung up on seeing a boob.

Several women breastfeed at work. Our biggest complaint is that it is always the fat, ugly ones. If a woman is hot, we are all in favor of it. My coworker Griff and I are even trying to help promote this worthy cause. Even if a hot woman doesn't have children yet, we will provide a baby doll and a place for her to practice.
