Actually, mine might not have been the refractor version.

Just got in 4 different shipments today. One was the Bench PSA 7 I just won on ebay. That was quick, and the card looks great.

Also got in my first order from the sportlots website. Well packaged and the cards were all in great shape. While the site is shit, the sellers seems to be legit.

And another order from a card forum (Blowout) brought 37 cards from the '77 and '78 Topps sets. I bought them mostly sight unseen, based off the guys descriptions, and he was not lying. A lot of these cards would likely grade out at an 8 or better and I paid less than a dollar a card on average. I think It was $30 shipped for the order.

A few random Larkin's from an ebay order also arrived, two being the Desert Shield cards from 1991.

All in all it was 30+ Larkin's, 30+ Votto's, and 38 from the 70s.

Graded 8’s for 70’s cards is a very high grade

I’ll post a few high res pics tomorrow to see if you agree with my assessment. Some do have centering issues.

I got my second Sportlots order in today, 47 different Larkin’s. Some were replacements for damaged cards I already had, and some I think I might have accidentally ordered. Probably 42 of them were new to me.

I’d highly recommend the site for modern commons at the very least.

Oh I believe they are great shape. Grade 7 on 70’s cards almost always look great. Grade 8’s seem tough to send off and get.

5’s are usually nice looking

Some of the little spots on the front are dust particles picked up from the desk when I was taking pictures.

I think that Ray Knight card is the best of the bunch. It's a definite PSA 8.

It is impressive how great of condition they are in. I started getting cards in 1981 (Topps mainly), started collecting regularly the 1983 Topps and until 1987 I kept cards sorted by team and wrapped in rubber bands. Played with cards, compared stats. My 1981-1986 Topps aren’t in great shape for the most part. I’m fortunate my Ripken, Gwynn, Clemens, McGwire rookies aren’t in too bad of shape. The way I did things for my 78 topps to be in that great of shape I’d have to have really loved the condition of cards to keep them that great and basically never touch them.

I could likely throw together the 1983 Topps Reds and they’d be 3-6 graded. So I’m impressed with all their condition.

Baseball card big timers are some weird guys.

Bench all-star card $0.50? Solid. Those are very good as well. I do like the 77’s. 77’s holding and raising value better than most 70’s years. 76-78 I like them all. 75’s unique and have some interest because so different. 73-74 too similar with so many bad pics and cards done long ways. 72’s are neat, look old. 71’s are so hard to find in really good shape. 70 boring but sharp cards.
