to me, in this generation divorce and pre-marital sex are widely accepted so i guess we can expect the same for homosexuality in 50 years

There was a time when divorced people (usually women) couldn't take communion or be members of many churches and certainly couldn't have a second church wedding. Fortunately, we've evolved past that stage.
Not going to make this a religious thread, but I think people who can't be members of a church after a divorce is a good thing. The less people that attend church the better.

Perhaps, perhaps not. Divorce is terrible, both for the couple and children - it is not good situation by any means. Non-marital sex is pretty much already accepted. Very few people want a child that grows up to be gay/bi/lesbian. For anecdotal family reasons it seems like we go out of our way to make these folks more comfortable, but on the other hand we are complete hypocrites in that we wouldn't want this for our children. To the point of Sam he's been treated with kid gloves, he's going to have to prove himself to the program and show he can make the team. The media attention isn't helping IMO.

This. I'd accept it, but can't say I'd be thrilled.

This is awesome yet people don't feel comfortable or want to talk about it. Gblock, you are smarter than me, and I have an incredibly high opinion of myself.

It is natrual to be uncomforatble tho, especially if you have never been exposed. My mother is a JW and she doesnt accept any of that. when i go home with my female gf we have to stay in seperate rooms and im a man im 40 lol
I don't know what you are talking about with "uber religious types" giving passes for things?

The last thing I checked, divorce is highly negative in any and every religion, same goes for drugs (if we are talking Christianity type religions, not Rastafarian), and premarital sex within the teachings of the churches have always been the same.

like_that;1615647 wrote:I don't really see the problem with this. His son is very young and so far has probably grown up seeing only a man and a woman kiss. It's not surprising at all that he had a "DAFUQ?!?!" reaction to it. I am sure his son would have the same type of reaction if he walked in on vdubbs watching porn. In that same scenario im sure vdubbs would have changed the channel as well. You can be tolerant and support others' way of life and also wish not to see it. I don't see the problem with that. I don't really give a fuck if you are gay or straight, and I believe gay marriages should be recognized, however I will openly admit that it still makes me uncomfortable to watch two men go in full out make out sessions. Does it mean I am intolerant to their way of life? No, I just rather not watch it. It's the same shit when there are sexually explicit gay scenes in movies/shows (I.e. Wolf of Wall Street, true blood, californication, etc). I don't really feel like watching that stuff, so sorry I'm not sorry that I turn my head away when those type of scenes come on.

Say is he trolling all you want, but COA, your posts are a prime example of what sleeper is talking about. Gay activists have taken such an extreme approach that it is off putting for a lot of people and that includes people like me who support their cause. They take the "we believe in this and if you don't you are an intolerant piece of shit closed minded red neck!!!!!" approach. Instead of taking a peaceful approach to preach their cause, they verbally attack anybody that isn't on their side. I assume this is an attempt place fears on others to not provide their opposing stance.

I just find it very hypocritical that the same people who are preaching tolerance and open mindedness are the same people who attack others for not having the same views. Perhaps these people grew up a certain way and it will take a bit more time for them to come around... Attacking them sure won't help. Yes, there will be some old people who will never change their stance, but fortunately our society changes by each era and as a whole we become more tolerant. It happened with African Americans and women in this country, and it will happen for gays.

In summary, I agree with sleeper, some people need to just grow the fuck up.
This was said better than I could have said. Mostly because I am no longer interested in a rational debate with a party interested in emotional sensationalism and media driven cliches in order to advance an money hungry agenda.

In other words, well said.

Why would you be less upset if your daughter were gay?

Because he understands attraction to women but doesn't understand attraction to men. Or at least that's what I assume and it's understandable.

Gosh a ruddies why its déjà vu. Every comment by the critics was made almost word for word for inter racial heterosexual kissing in the not to distant past. Geez from some of these folks we probably still get them.

My guess is the exponentially higher health risks. I've known (through my gay father-in-law) a handful of guys that contracted HIV and unfortunately one that passed away. I don't know many lesbians but I'm guessing the odds of them contracting HIV or some other STD is much lower.

Out of curiosity, how'd your wife handle this?

Naive, she didn't question him until she was 19 when her college roommates pointed out that he never remarried and kept hanging out with some guy that looked straight out of a Village People concert. It hurt her for about a year but she got over it. He's a great guy and I get along with him more than she does. The weird thing is he's never apologized to her mom, which is still a thorn in everyone's side.

I saw AJ kiss his SO for the first time the day it happened. After opening your link I just saw it for the second time in my life unlike the way the MS kiss was shown over and over again.

The comments at the end of this article that you posted are a bit...maybe you should just read them yourself.

its becoming more and more obvious to me that Sam cares more about some gay movement (shocker, called him an attention whore from the beginning) than he does actually playing football. I bet he doesn't make the 53 man roster.
