Yes I donate to PP and yes they perform abortions. I still find abortions disgusting however I respect a woman's right to make her own choices; just like I think religious belief is the dumbest thing on the planet but am okay with people choosing to believe and just like I think gay people are disgusting yet I respect their ability to bang each other if they want. What are we debating here?Mohican00;1616543 wrote:ahh, the old logic attack. Sleeper classic
All you have to do is say, yeah, I donate to PP which perform abortions and I'll be happy. What the fuck else is there to discuss?
There is no logic attack. My logic is always rock solid.

I agree with a lot of this, but still even the most pro-gay rights person should realize that the media attention is way too much for this "event". And it can be off-putting for some people.I Wear Pants;1616542 wrote:Because he'll be the first gay dude in the NFL that doesn't feel like he has to hide his sexuality. People like him, Robbie Rogers, Collins, other athletes, and high profile people like Anderson Cooper (shocker) making it known that they're gay helps kids who are struggling with their identities or live in bad environments. If none of them were out and a kid was in a living situation that wasn't exactly friendly towards their sexuality it'd be easy to think that their parents or whoever are right and that being gay is bad and no one can "make it" if they're gay.
Hell you yourself brag on here about all the girls you supposedly sleep with but if a gay person did the same you'd be all "we get it you're gay no one cares".

Yeah but Sam doesn't run the news networks so I'm not sure what he's supposed to do about it. That's more of a "ESPN fucking sucks" complaint than anything specific to gay issues.Manhattan Buckeye;1616547 wrote:I agree with a lot of this, but still even the most pro-gay rights person should realize that the media attention is way too much for this "event". And the fact that ESPN SUCKS is something all people should be able to agree upon, regardless of gender, race, orientation or other factors.

He could come out and say the media attention is unwarranted and that he is a normal person with a different sexual preference than a majority of players.I Wear Pants;1616550 wrote:Yeah but Sam doesn't run the news networks so I'm not sure what he's supposed to do about it. However, since he's not making the league, the only way for him to make money(which is the entire purpose of the gay agenda) is to get book deals and documentary deals. He is using 'the cause' for its intended purpose.

If he didnt want the media attention he would not have repeatedly kissed his boyfriend.sleeper;1616558 wrote:He could come out and say the media attention is unwarranted and that he is a normal person with a different sexual preference than a majority of players.

Of course he wanted all of this attention and some show on the Okrah channel.

I mean he'd be stupid not to take advantage of the spotlight he's been given. He'll likely be doing a fair amount of charity work/advocacy as well which is important since he's one of the few prominent gay people I can think of that are black.sleeper;1616558 wrote:He could come out and say the media attention is unwarranted and that he is a normal person with a different sexual preference than a majority of players.

People tend to kiss their SO after getting good news or accepting an award or something like that. Nobody says a word when it's a straight kiss but when it's gay it's "OMG keep it to yourself".thavoice;1616567 wrote:If he didnt want the media attention he would not have repeatedly kissed his boyfriend.

And while at the same time he has a book coming out and a documentary because he is a gay football player. Actually he'll just be a gay man once he's out of the league in 2 months.I Wear Pants;1616575 wrote:I mean he'd be stupid not to take advantage of the spotlight he's been given. Seriously though why would he say no to either of those? It's a platform to discuss things you care about and I'm sure they'll pay him pretty well too. Anyone else in the draft would accept those things if they were offered to them. I guess I don't see what's so offensive about it. I'm definitely not going to watch the show or read the book but I'm confused what the issue is.sleeper;1616578 wrote:And while at the same time he has a book coming out and a documentary because he is a gay football player. If you want people to see you as a football player, you shouldn't have held a press conference to announce you are gay. You shouldve told your team in orivatw, like you did at missouri. No one cares you are gay, you care that others know your gay and that's the difference

Because he's just a football player remember? He's not special; he wants to be know as a football player not a gay football player yet signs deals because he is a gay football player. Is that really that complicated?I Wear Pants;1616586 wrote:Seriously though why would he say no to either of those? You're basically saying that gay people should only be allowed to be gay in private.DeyDurkie5;1616588 wrote:If you want people to see you as a football player, you shouldn't have held a press conference to announce you are gay. Why would they be gay in public? I'm not heterosexual in public. It's a private choice for your private life; no different than normal people.I Wear Pants;1616597 wrote:You're basically saying that gay people should only be allowed to be gay in private.

No I'm not. If you want them to see you as a football player, don't announce a press conference to say hey I'm gay. If you don't want people to see you as a racist, don't announce it to the world that you are a racist. Why does it matter if you are gay or not? You did just fine at missouri not letting the world know. In fact, if you wanted to come out you shouldve done it at missouri.I Wear Pants;1616597 wrote:You're basically saying that gay people should only be allowed to be gay in private.

You've never kissed a girl in front of someone else, talked about a girlfriend or hookup, mentioned someone you thought was hot, etc, etc? If I was on TV for some reason (not gonna happen, I'm not that interesting) and told a story about something my boyfriend and I did I'd probably get the same complaints.sleeper;1616601 wrote:Why would they be gay in public? Except you are. You've mentioned your wife, or girlfriend, or some chick you thought was hot, or kissed a girl, or held hands or any number of things which show that you're straight. If I do that I get people who say "why does he have to shove it in our faces?".Raw Dawgin' it;1616608 wrote:This.

Depends on the company. If its my friends and people who know me, of course. If its out in the middle of the street or on the subway, then fuck no. It's called being a decent human being and respecting others; something gays are clueless about.I Wear Pants;1616606 wrote:You've never kissed a girl in front of someone else, talked about a girlfriend or hookup, mentioned someone you thought was hot, etc, etc? I don't bang girls at bars. I take them home. Not sure why gays have the need to tell everyone and their mom what they do in the bedroom.Heretic;1616622 wrote:Then you obviously don't get laid, like you always are saying. Since you'd likely have to be in public places for things like dates.

This. And if he somehow got drafted and kissed a boy on TV and the world was outraged he could simply state: "He's my boyfriend, I don't see the big deal. Stay out of my personal life".DeyDurkie5;1616605 wrote:No I'm not. If you want them to see you as a football player, don't announce a press conference to say hey I'm gay. He did this for money since he's never going to play in the league anyway.
