Best time to get them will be the SEC Tournament. The coach hates it and the seeding will already be done.

Gotta love ESPN pimping up Kentucky.
Yes they are obviously good but let's face it, any top team would be 13-0 in the garbage SEC.
And spare us all with the "they get everyone's best shot" bullshit. Tennessee was 2/17 AT HOME from 3. That's not getting someone's best shot.

I think Kentucky's 2011 team was much better than this one. This team is deep and big, but they have flaws. Namely the Harrisons.

Aaron, possibly. Andrew has been one of the top 3 players on the team. The weaknesses, IMO, are a lack of scoring options when the 3-ball isn't falling and lack of an inside scoring threat after Towns.
The good news is...we've really not gotten to see anything close to potential production from Dakari Johnson or Trey Lyles. Both of them are under the radar guys who will need to make waves at some point if UK is going to win it all.
Given what we saw in the NCAA's last year, both Dakari Johnson and Aaron Harrison have been the most disappointing players on the team.

Also, going into the 2012 NCAA Tournament, everyone questioned Marquis Teague (and somewhat justifiably). He rose to the occasion in the tournament and it became forgotten.

Meh, I have no problems with killing tradition when doing so makes the game bearable to watch without the TV on mute.Laley23;1706063 wrote:Terrible decision. I don't think he is any good, but he is also the reason ESPN is what it is and especially why College Basketball is what it is, TV wise. I'd have just let the guy finish off his career doing those games. This is a bad look for ESPN.

I have grown to dislike Vitale as the years have passed, but I echo those sentiments. Felt the same way when Mike Patrick, perhaps my all-time favorite announcer, was phased out as the rivalry's chief play-by-play man around 2004. Dick Vitale is entrenched in that rivalry and as long as ESPN employs him, he should be part of that game.wildcats20;1706053 wrote:Heard some interesting news today...
For the first time since 1979, Dick Vitale won't call a Carolina/Dook game.
Say what you want about him or the way he calls a game, but he has been the voice of the rivalry. It's a shame that ESPN is taking him off this game, IMO.

I think UNC finds a way to win by 6
This is the 73rd time in the rivalry that both teams are ranked.....both teams have won 36

Totally agree. I appreciate all that Vitale has done, but I can't listen to him anymore.Heretic;1706355 wrote:Meh, I have no problems with killing tradition when doing so makes the game bearable to watch without the TV on mute.

Offensively, yes. Defensively, no. This team has flaws on offense. Its not always easy for them and its not always pretty. But defensively, they are just so big and long on the inside, they are get away with doing things that other teams can't. That length makes up for some many mistakes. THey can gamble on the perimeter, and get away with it. And usually, that gamble ends up leading to an easy basket at the other end. That is the difference, and a big one at that. This UK team can get away with being so so on offense with what they have sitting back in the paint defensively.Mulva;1706290 wrote:I think Kentucky's 2011 team was much better than this one. With Vitale and ESPN, it's goes way beyond tradition. He is arguably the SOLE reason ESPN is as big as it is today. What he did to get college basketball on TV and the contracts he was able to land for ESPN is the biggest reason they were able to expand into anything resembling a major player in sports. I can't stand him, but the decision to leave his favorite game of the year should've been his and his alone for that reason alone, IMO.Heretic;1706355 wrote:Meh, I have no problems with killing tradition when doing so makes the game bearable to watch without the TV on mute.

Russell is intriguing because he will touch the ball so much more than Okafor. Those 2 have to go 1 & 2 though.wildcats20;1706451 wrote:He might not(he is) be the best player in the country, but he is hands down the #1 pick.

That was the hardest shot free throw that I've ever seen go in.
