Heard some interesting news today...
For the first time since 1979, Dick Vitale won't call a Carolina/Dook game.
Say what you want about him or the way he calls a game, but he has been the voice of the rivalry. It's a shame that ESPN is taking him off this game, IMO.

Terrible decision. I don't think he is any good, but he is also the reason ESPN is what it is and especially why College Basketball is what it is, TV wise. I'd have just let the guy finish off his career doing those games. This is a bad look for ESPN.

Vitale is a terrible analyst and you can predict about half-a-dozen points he's going to bring up in a given game. However, he's one of the biggest fans and supporters of everything related to the sport. Not that he deserves to do everything he wants, but he DOES deserve respect for what he's done and what he stands for if you're a CBB fan. Personally, his announcing skills went to crap over a decade ago.
I used to tape college games all throughout the 90's. I have some old VHS tapes that I watched the other day and it included the Maryland/Duke game in 1995 in Durham. Joe Smith put up 40 points and the Terps won by 2. Listen to Vitale call that game. Or the Duke/Carolina game in Chapel Hill in 1995. Vitale's urge to Cherokee Parks to "go inside" is great, as the Heels dominated the Devils.

This has gotta be the worst atmosphere for a top 25 matchup. Half that damn arena is empty and it's dead quiet in there.

Around a foot at Marshall but that is 90 min south and Morgantown should be a bit above the snow line.Azubuike24;1706075 wrote:What was the snowfall/storm severity in Morgantown? There ain't jack shit else to do there so it's not like nobody is interested...

Amazing how a few simple tweets can help make things seem much less dramatic.

Hopefully Kansas doesn't pull away. I haven't watched much NCAA this year and this has been pretty fair.

Help me out on my NCAA tourney prep.....how legit is Gonzaga? Lunardi has them as a #1 and many have them as a #2.....will they be a sweet 16 or beyond? How good are their guards?

Watched replay multiple times and Perry Ellis took two steps towards the guy in the corner and didn't help to stop ball.....would've been an easy charge even if he passes to the open shooter
