Whoever lost that game, became an even bigger one. 2 big names, but likely 2 bubble teams.Mulva;1692481 wrote:Florida is a disaster this year.

Two losses on the road to conference teams with a combined record of 21-7 and Washington is automatically out of the running? Lol. The loss at Stanford was in OT.
The Stony Brook loss was horrendous, but there's no shame in the other two. Life on the road is treacherous in league play. Still like Washington and believe they can play better basketball.

Im not counting them out (Az I cant speak for). But, you have to admit the hilarity of 3 losses in a row almost as soon as you called them FF contenders.reclegend22;1693024 wrote:Two losses on the road to conference teams with a combined record of 21-7 and Washington is automatically out of the running? And, Stanford is not a good team, but on the road in conference anything can happen.

Yes, I understand the amusement factor here, especially since this exact same thing happened last year with Creighton. As soon as I anointed Creighton a Final Four team, San Diego State opened up a 30-point lead on them in their very next game and the Bluejays then followed that by losing to George Washington the next day.Laley23;1693026 wrote:Im not counting them out (Az I cant speak for). As far as Washington is concerned, at this point I am fully prepared to go down with the ship, as I'm sure you have already gathered.

I'm sure this will spell doom for Notre Dame, but the Fighting Irish look really good in Chapel Hill tonight. Irish up 60 to 50 halfway through the second half. I have absolutely no faith in Mike Brey, but his players seem to be doing very well this year despite him.

Irish hang on for a 1 point victory in chapel hill. Pretty big win. Got Virginia at home Saturday should be a good one

Some decent games on the docket tonight.
Oklahoma State (11-2) at No. 17 Iowa State (10-2)
No. 8 Villanova (13-1) at No. 24 St. John's (11-3)
No. 23 Arkansas (11-2) at Georgia (9-3), which is actually an under-the-radar team this year. The Bulldogs have wins over Seton Hall and Stony Brook.
Providence (11-4) at Butler (11-4)
No. 22 Ohio State (12-3) at Minnesota (11-4)
Marquette (9-5) at Georgetown (9-5)
Ole Miss (9-4) at No. 1 Kentucky (13-0)
Oklahoma State (11-2) at No. 17 Iowa State (10-2)
No. 8 Villanova (13-1) at No. 24 St. John's (11-3)

St Johns and Minny both 0-2 in conference I believe. Huge game for each of them.

Ole Miss holds a 38 to 36 edge on UK in Rupp at the half. Game is on the SEC Network.
The Cats will probably rally to win by three touchdowns, but it will be a seemingly innocuous game such as this that nobody expects that eventually creeps up on UK.

I like Georgia more than Arkansas. They went 12-6 quietly in the league last year. Both, along with South Carolina and LSU are underrated. The bottom of the SEC sucks, but it gets a lot of hate and in-reality, it's as good in the middle/lower middle as the Big Ten, Big 12 and Pac 12.

While armed with a generous amount of talent, St. John's is the type of team that will likely drop 10 to 12 games this season based on pure stupidity alone (read unpredictable play). That makes a circle on the calendar game such as Duke on Jan. 25 an absolute must win, which worries the fuck out of me.Mulva;1693507 wrote:St Johns and Minny both 0-2 in conference I believe. This is the best edition of the Johnnies yet for Steve Lavin, who is undoubtedly one of the best recruiters out there. He just isn't a solid in-game tactician.

Crazy happening in the UK game. Ole Miss hit a three, and they have waited over 5 minutes to review it. I have a feeling in the next TV timeout, they will take a point away from the Rebels as his foot was on the line. My question is, why wait so long? It can affect the game if the score is wrong the whole time.

After 5 minutes of game time, they took the points away. I've never seen this. They purposely waited two timeouts to review it because they needed "extra time" to get the best camera angle. Huh?

Day 1 of MAC play: Akron beats defending champs WMU by 20, and CMU beats Toledo. Should be entertaining in the conference this season.

He held on to the ball longer than I anticipated he would. That turnover is the most obvious thing that will happen all season.Mulva;1693548 wrote:What the fuck was Jarvis Summers doing? Terrible.

I thought it was a bad call live. Replay looked like the defenders elbow hit him on top of the head.

SEC announcers suck. I've heard them mess up badly 4 times in the last 5 minutes.

Watch Ole Miss play the rest of the year. They won't hit this many miracle shots again.
