I must laugh, a week before the UK game, Montrezl Harrell just got ejected for throwing a punch, missing and grazing the ref.
Now, there's bad blood playing at Western Kentucky, and the refs really let some hard fouls go by, but still. He possibly jeopardizes himself for the UK game for something really dumb.

Louisville is in the bonus less than 4 minutes into the 2nd half.

UK made 12 threes today. If they do that, it's impossible to beat. It doesn't say much. UCLA is a joke defensively. They gave Aaron Harrison and Devin Booker, both dead-eye shooters, wide open looks all day.
25 assists, 13 blocks, 8 steals. UCLA is a very sloppy offensive team that relies on quantity over quality.

Some great holiday hoops action on the ESPN family of networks tonight: Oklahoma-Washington, N.C. State-West Virginia, Stanford-BYU and UNLV-Utah.
UDub is really good. They dominated Oklahoma much of the first half. There may not be a better lead guard in the country than Nigel Williams-Goss, who's putting up 15, 5 and 7 on the year in continuing the strong legacy of point guards at Washington. Pure talent-wise he may not be quite as good as either Brandon Roy or Nate Robinson, but in terms of the overall package, he's not far off at such an early stage in his career. With Goss leading the way, Washington is a legitimate Final Four contender.

They are a surprise team, but c'mon. They aren't even the best team in their own state and I'm not convinced they are clearly better than California, Utah or Stanford. This win over OU is impressive though.reclegend22;1688042 wrote:Washington is a legitimate Final Four contender.

Being that Williams-Goss is on my fantasy team, I've watched Washington quite a few times this season. They are very good. Like most Lorenzo Romar teams, the Huskies are perimeter-oriented and a bit thin inside, but the perimeter is so good that it doesn't matter. Goss and Andrew Andrews compose a dynamic backcourt, and Robert Upshaw and Shawn Kemp, Jr., are more than serviceable inside.
Experience, or the lack thereof, is what could hurt UDub come late in the year, as nobody on the roster has ever played in the tournament. But they are very talented.

Virginia rolling Harvard. Was 39-8 at half, and Harvard had 1 field goal make.

Arizona loses on the road to UNLV
The other surprising result today was Texas losing at home to Stanford
I can't imagine top teams feeling "up" to a road game two days before Xmas/Xmas break.

Ive seen Arizona play 5 times this year, and tonight was not one of them. Not really impressive to me, despite Rec thinking they are a lock for a 1 seed lol.SportsAndLady;1689158 wrote:Arizona loses on the road to UNLV

Really disappointed that there was no Arizona losing to Dave Rice reaction from him last night.Laley23;1689159 wrote:Ive seen Arizona play 5 times this year, and tonight was not one of them. Not really impressive to me, despite Rec thinking they are a lock for a 1 seed lol.
It's too bad he didn't wait a year to take Christian Wood in the fantasy league, too.

Arizona isn't a super deep team and IMO, their back court is good, but I'd hardly say it's Final Four caliber. IMO, they will be carried by their interior skill/athleticism, Stanley Johnson and defense. If there is a team that could knock them out, it's a team that can expose some weak pieces on the perimeter D (McConnell and York aren't that great). Johnson could be the x-factor that is good enough to carry them a bit, if needed.

If Arizona had lost to UNLV any other place in the world than Las Vegas, it would have been a heinous defeat. Dave Rice really is that clueless. But Vegas suffers no shortage of sheer talent and is utterly dangerous at the Thomas & Mack Center. For that reason, I'm not surprised Arizona fell. The loss, however, does not change my perception of the Wildcats. Arizona is absolutely talented enough to garner a number one seed and I believe they probably will. Right now is it Duke and Kentucky and then Arizona.

As for Christian Wood, had he not been plagued by pre-season injuries last year, which I failed to catch due to him being so under the radar nationally, I still believe he would've had a freshman season worth remembering. He had that unique combination of size and skill to be really special, but was slowed down far too much in the summer to make any significant impact last season. No matter, it remains the worst draft selection in the brief history of this game. It was just too risky to select somebody so unknown.
He'll be an All-American candidate next season. The kid will have a chance at a solid pro career.

Way too many points to give the #4 team at home. But what do I know!?? Lol.
I cannot wait for that game. Should be a great game. If Harrell stays on the court, Louisville will he in it till the end.

The 2nd half hasn't been any better. But at least it provided the worst flop I've ever seen.
