UNC does NOT play in Columbus. Game is on a neutral court in Chicago. And although OSU is young, I think its pretty evident that OSU will be pretty good team and only get better as the freshman earn experience. Wisconsin being the favorite is no surprise with them returning almost entire team from final four last year along with one of the best players in the country. After Wisconsin and OSU, next handful of teams are going to be pretty good, not great. MSU and UM will come around. Both well coached teams. But neither has the talent they have had in past.birddog23;1685099 wrote:B1G may be in for a rough year. Rough as in, everyone beating up on everyone. Michigan and Nebraska are not impressing anyone. Michigan State has lost the 3 toughest games on their schedule. Minnesota and Penn State are blah.
Ohio State and Maryland are still unknowns. Will learn more about these 2 on Dec 21st when MD travels to OKST and on Dec 20th when UNC invades Columbus.
So that essentially leaves Wisconsin as THE team in the B1G.

Was just looking at ESPN and it had OSU as the home team vs UNC. My mistake. Game is @ Chicagocentralbucksfan;1685107 wrote:UNC does NOT play in Columbus. Game is on a neutral court in Chicago. Test time. Without cheating, what state is Incarnate Word in?

Texas? Without cheating, I think they're in the southland.

San Antonio. But I drafted one of their players in our fantasy league, so I've googled it before.

Not sure Okie State is a test. Lost by 26 to South Carolina. Gamecocks predicted outside the top 10 in the SEC. As for the Big Ten, I agree with the above that none of the teams are really that impressive, even Wisky got controlled pretty well at home vs Duke. There's going to be a lot of teams seeded in the 4-9 range, but also a lot of teams in the conversation for the NCAA's. Outside of Penn State, Purdue, Rutgers and Northwestern, everyone else will be in the mix.
The Big Ten outside of the Badgers hasn't done themselves many favors in the non-conference. Top 50 wins thus far...
Ohio State - none
Michigan State - none
Iowa - North Carolina (14)
Minnesota - Georgia (47)
Maryland - Iowa State (20)
Illinois - Baylor (13)
Purdue - BYU (50)
Michigan - Syracuse (32)
Indiana - SMU (43), Pittsburgh (49)
Nebraska - none
Penn State - none
Northwestern - none
Rutgers - none
They have 16 losses against top 50 teams, so they have definitely missed more opportunities than they have capitalized on.

Yeah, a lot of peoples' dark horse darling has been looking very pedestrian so far this year. And with a loss like that, they're apparently trying to take the heat off Michigan for their horrible losses.Midstate01;1685066 wrote:Nebraska loses to incarnate word.

Alex Poythress tore his ACL last night. We'll see if Cal replaces him in the platoon or they go to a 9 guy rotation. Derek Willis or Dominique Hawkins would be next up.

That sucks for Alex. If anyone went down, he is the easiest to replace. Willis can fill in nicely.

Obviously I hate Cal and I hate everything UK, but that is awful. Hope he can make a full recovery(should be able to, almost routine anymore).

Yeah, definitely terrible for him. Luckily, though, he's in better shape than anyone if the injury is long-term or he doesn't end up making it onto an NBA roster. He's got a 4.0 in business, set to graduate this spring, and was valedictorian of his high school. He seems to have his head on his shoulders in terms of setting himself up for success outside of basketball.
EDIT: Also, I'm excited for another UK/UNC matchup tomorrow. I'd like to see a game like the 2011 version, with the same ending.

This is gonna be a blood bath. I have zero faith in this Tar Heel team right now.

Ulis would be so good if he had a few more inches.

Paige did find his shot though. That's good news for UNC. Ulis gave him fits defensively though. He ate up everyone else who guarded him, Booker or the twins.

Carolina shot 45%, 46.2% from three and out-rebounded Kentucky.

UK will not be tested if they shoot the ball like they did today.
My first real look at them. They are very, very scary.
