Our 2 big FA acquisitions have been at spots that were not a real problem last year. Basically just a trade of DQJ & Ward for Whitnet and Dansby. Slight upgrades at both, but neither do anything to address an offense which was borderline unwatchable for much of last year.

We are sitting on the 2nd most cap room in the league, start using it. Don't let Tate leave without a contract. Find some real NFL caliber guards. Find a 2nd CB.

These are things that need to be done.

Waiting until the draft and hoping that 4-5th round picks will fill these holes is just a recipe for another 6-10 season and further swirling around the drain.

For the love of God what does it take to get someone with a sense of urgency into this town?

Denver goes to the SB bowl last year and can't add guys fast enough. We are coming off like 6 10+ loss seasons in a row and we are still in the slow and steady mode. It just defies logic.
So much retarded.

Free agents want to play for Denver, that's why they're able to add guys easily. They have something called Peyton manning and a winning atmosphere.

Tell me why again farmer doesn't have a sense of urgency? You say you want him to add FAs but then bitch about the FAs that we did add. Lol.

The offense was borderline unwatchable last year because of Brandon Weeden and Jason Campbell. They are gone. We have 4 pro bowl offensive players and will have either a new QB or hoyer, who was good last year when playing.

Stop trolling

Also, dont act like he didnt make a move(s) to upgrade the offense.

They signed Hawkins. Nothing they can do if Cincy matches it.

They are going hard after Edelman and Tate. Nothing they can do if they go elsewhere for less money.

There's this kind of big thing called a draft, where teams get a lot of their players, coming up soon. Perhaps you've heard of it.

Idiot.

I haven't heard any connections, but Johnson said he'd take a paycut to be traded, and Nicks was really really good a few years ago (horrble last year).
I wouldn't have minded Nicks at all, I think he could've been good with defenses keying on Gordon and Cameron, but I saw that Nicks is pretty much down to Indy and Carolina.

Also keep in mind the browns don't want to be too aggressive in FA just in case some team gives Mack a front loaded offer. Derp iggy.

Remember when iggy said (numerous times) that Mack was all but gone? LOL

I'm confused. When the Browns signed two upgrades on day 1, guys come out and say those that win free agency lose on the field, now we're being patient and still there is bitching? Dafuq

I don't see it this way. I see this as he is trying to just get money. He wants to get paid and his agent really wants to get paid. So they are hoping someone offers them a deal to get more money. He knows the Browns are going to match that deal. He's never said he wanted out. And hey the Browns put that tag on him, he didn't ask for it.

It'll all work out and he will get signed long term

It's just annoying that the Browns are already willing to make him the highest paid center. He really wants to leave the team he is going to play with in limbo, when they can sign other guys and help him succeed?

I understand these guys want to get paid, and they deserve it, but there is a point where greediness can bite you in the ass.

Yea I agree with that. But I'm not always sure it's really ever known what a player wants unless they personally say it these agents want their 7% or whatever it is and they are gonna try to get as much as possible. Honestly it works out OK for the Browns if nobody offers because then he will have to sign that tender and end up taking their deal probably.

He can't be allowed to leave the city without a signed contract.

No team in the history of the NFL had more incompetent RB production than the Browns last year I don't think. He would be such a massive upgrade over what we had that they need to make the deal happen.

Unless you have some stats to back that up, I call bullshit AGAIN on your posts.

Do you ever type anything factual? Do you ever post shit on here that isn't just your assumption and pessimistic view on the Browns? You're a sad, sad individual.

Would much rather have a cheaper rookie RB to go with Lewis, Baker, and Oby than paying for Tate. O-line is more of a concern to me than RB is.

I would love to have Tate as our feature back. Allows us to go another direction in the draft to beef up the guard spots with a ILB FS CB and WR. Would allow us flexibility to trade up if need be.

No real evidence of that has been provided either.

Ben Tate - RB - Texans

Free agent Ben Tate will sign with Cleveland today if he passes his physical.

The proposed contract is performance-based, meaning Tate will have to stay on the field to get paid. That has been a problem for Tate in his career. He already has two IR stints in four years and struggled through several nagging injuries in 2013. When healthy, Tate has the talent to make a difference in an improving Browns' offense. He is on the RB2 radar for 2014.

Don't care for the Tate signing, but hey, it's hard to complain when they Browns are actually pursuing free agents.

Also, how did Tashaun Gipson add up to other free safeties in the league last year? Seemed like he played pretty well.

I like the Tate signing, but I still want them to draft someone in the draft. Tate will go down for multiple games, thats almost a guarantee.
