He hurt his ankle. If cincy was afraid he couldn't play they'd cut the ties, not try to keep him. He'll be fine.shook_17;1589901 wrote:How is Hawkins missing 10 games irrelevant? He can't stay healthy he's 5'7 and weighs 180.
Or are you suggesting Edelman is immune for hurting his ankle? Or you're just using your crystal ball again?

I honestly would be happy with both. I just thought that I would add in some more facts...
Prior to 2013, Julian Edelman had missed 16 games in his 4 year career (never playing a full 16 games). Over those 4 years, he amassed 69 receptions, 714 yards, and 4 TDs.
Just saying, Edelman and Hawkins aren't as different as you are making them out to be. You're welcome

So that means he never will. He's got joints of steel. You're an idiot. Hawkins is fine and is a better option.shook_17;1589918 wrote:Does Edlemen have a history of missing games? Or nahhhhhhh

The nature of the slot position is running short routes and going across the middle of the field where you are going to take shots from linebackers and downhill safeties. This position in general is not durable.
Wow, I kind of brought that conversation to a halt! lol

I didn't know how many games Edelman missed b.c I didn't care. He's playing and it wasnt anything serious. Same reason I don't care how many games Hawkins missed. He's fine and it wasn't anytthing serious. No one knows what the future holds for either of the two. I'll take the one whos got more skill.Dr. KnOiTaLL;1589926 wrote:The nature of the slot position is running short routes and going across the middle of the field where you are going to take shots from linebackers and downhill safeties. Nice fail. It's fine to prefer Edelman, but don't throw stones when your argument is made of glass.

Bro, if you're gonna throw stats out, should probably do some research.shook_17;1589894 wrote:Right he has showed that in his three year career in cincy. Edelman stats for first 4 years in NFL
48 Games played out of a Possible 64
69 Catches
714 Yards
4 TDs
Thats in 4 years. In his 5th year he finally had a breakout season.
So using Hawkins stats through 3 season really doesn't help prove your point that Edelman is so much better than Hawkins.

Honestly i I didn't think it was that high. I'll do more research to see if he was hurt or just not activated. I know he didn't play much at the start of his career. I don't know if it was hurt or just wasn't ready/good enough

Well not really stats. Edelmans production is way higher than Hawkins. Just the injury. Oups

Did you not see the breakdown of Edelmans 4 year numbers, compared to Hawkins 3 year numbers?
Edelamn-4 years
69-714-4
Hawkins 3 years
86-995-4

And hell throwing in Edelmans one big year the numbers look like this
Edelman 5 Years
174 Catches, 1770, 10 TDs
Hawkins 3 years
86-995-4
If you take his averages so far, his numbers would look like this after 5 years
143-1658-6.67
And that is only if he performs right on average.

From PFF on ESPN.com talking about FA signings that made no sense
D'Qwell Jackson, LB, Indianapolis ColtsFour years, $22 million, $11 million guaranteed
This move is all about what you could have had. There isn't much doubt that Jackson is an upgrade for the Colts -- that's how bad their inside linebacker situation has been -- but when you consider what the Browns were able to replace him with, you get a sense of where the Colts should have put their money instead. Karlos Dansby may be a couple of years older than Jackson, but he is playing at a completely different level and signed for just a bit more money.
While Jackson struggled last season on his way to a PFF grade of minus-11.6, Dansby was right up among the best inside linebackers in the league at plus-13.3 thanks in part to his big plays like eight sacks and four interceptions. Dansby made 44 more defensive stops than Jackson, and opposing quarterbacks completed a lower percentage of passes into his coverage (65 percent versus 73.3 percent for Jackson) for a lower passer rating (75 to 91.3). The Colts were correct to upgrade at linebacker; they just chose the wrong guy to do it.

Hawkins is faster and more explosive than Edelman. With that said, the last thing I'd question with Julian is his durability. It's a concern with Hawkins. With Edelman though, we'll see if he does anything outside of New England. Hawkins is a decent weapon and did so in an offense that was devoid of how to properly use a slot WR or a dual TE set.
