Except for what looks like an injury year in 2010, you have to go back to 2006 to even mention Roethlisberger in the same sentence with Romo, numbers-wise....

Any consideration at all that Romo plays all of his home games on the fast turf/indoors? Also more domes in the NFC. Ben plays about 2-3 games a year on the quick surfaces and in controlled weather.

I agree Romo has been a better QB this year.

1 freaking playoff win in his whole career? C'mon he plays for a team that is figured to be a playoff team every year. He can't get it don when it matters most and his o-line, backs, receivers and defensive players have almost always been more than enough to win the the playoffs.

I don't think his o line and defenses have even been good enough to win at the same time. They do always have good skill position guys though

Are you really resorting to weather to explain Bens bad play? Come on.

Comparably, Dallas has never had the defense that they enjoy in Pitt and offensive line, other than this year, has always been better. Only RB/WR has been an advantage for Romo over Ben. And when you consider the running games that Ben has had other than the last couple seasons that advantage isn't huge.

Face it, Pittsburghs defense finally blows and Big Ben can't play from behind. That's the difference, he is a great game manager but not a great qb.

I was not blaming Ben's performance on bad weather....I was saying Romo benefits from better and being indoors....how can that not be an argument of some sorts?......and I wasn't speaking of this year at all.

You a effing insane if you think Ben has had a better line every year except this year. Simply ridiculous.....better run blockers up to a few years ago yes, but shitty pass blockers.

You say Cowboys have better receivers? Lol thanks for making a point in Ben's case.

Pittsburgh better defense? Can't argue but how's that supposed to help Ben's offensive numbers...especially as a running team most of his career.

Romo has has better weapons, blocking line, quicker surfaces (benefitting the offense) and indoors.

I'm not arguing Ben is better, especially this year (Romo has been excellent).....I'm giving reasons why Romo's numbers are so good besides the fact that he is a good QB.

I can agree to disagree with everything in this debate.....but there is nothing that can excuse his team only winning 1 playoff game in all those years with the talent they've had.....if he's that much better than Ben.....no way he'd only have 1

I think that pretty much sums it up. Only in Steeler fans' opinions has Ben been better over last 3-4 years.

Too bad anyone who intelligently follows the sport disagrees (not anyone on OC, but PFF and other expert sites)

I92: I'll acknowledge your point about weather, while discounting it being worth a whole lot in our particular argument, because the playing style in the AFC North is clearly different than other divisions, and weather plays a decent part into that.

You need to use the "intelligence" card when it comes to defending a guy as "career superior" when he's mainly known for putting up great fantasy numbers in the average, mundane regular season game and then hilariously choking in the clutch whenever he plays in a big-time (national prime-time TV, playoffs) game. Carson Palmer 2.0, except with a lot more opportunities to fail in high-profile situations.

It's an interesting argument, though. One guy has the edge as far as cold, hard stats, so he turns on geeks and robots; while the other guy has the edge in intangibles, so he works better for people who actually care about winning games and making plays when it counts.

Reason Romo has the edge on Ben right now is because, as the team in general has downgraded, so has his ability to be reasonably consistently clutch down the stretch. Seems like over this year and last, he's really struggled to deliver that big drive in the fourth quarter of close games like he was able to do in previous years.

I do have to admit the "only Pittsburgh fans love Ben" argument is the best part of their "intelligence" argument.

Especially considering that I can't count the number of times Browns fans here have complained about how various announcers can't take his dick out of their mouth constantly praising his toughness and clutch and all that.

Apparently, at least until recently, the majority of commentators on TV were Steelers fans. Good to know.

No sense in arguing with shittsburgh "fans" about rapistberger. We are talking about the same group of "fans" who continuously deny the fact he is a scumbag who forces himself on women. When you bring it up now, their counter argument is "he is not a rapist, he is married and having a kid!!" LOLFAIL.

Higher passer rating in each of those years. TD/INT ratios mostly better.

Or are we just comparing sack totals?

I've called Roethlisberger a POS on numerous occasions. This discussion is about what he does on the field.

"Nice fail."

I was referring to steelers "fans" in general, nice fail though. Also I'm not digging up posts from 3 years ago but I know people like ewok went out of their way to defend rapistberger by telling us Jim brown is a scumbag LOL.

Keep being delusional about rapistberger though. He will go to canton only as the 2nd most overrated HOFer behind Bradshaw.

How is it a fail? Lol

So ewok was a dumbass 3 years ago. You are talking to those of us on here and to my knowledge no one believes that at all. Romo has clearly been the better guy over the years....no one in the world would debate that.

I doubt Ben makes it.

Joe Namath was way worse than the back-to-back Super Bowl MVP that was 14-5 in the playoffs.
