Guys like Butkus with the mental toughness he brought to the game (if in the same era with equal nutrition and training) would tear thru mental midgets like Incognito like hot knife thu your weak little arms.

LOL you can bring all the mental toughness in the world...but when you weren't getting through much slower, 270 pound linemen on every single play, you'd get your ass handed to you basically every time by someone much bigger, stronger and faster.

Mental toughness doesn't mean shit in a physical battle of pushing and shoving.

No, actually....yours is. If you are going to "time warp" a Deion Sanders to the present, you have to give him the same advantages as today's players as well as you'd have to take away all of the advantages Megatron has if you took him back in time.

Uhh..nope, not really. Because what I know is what those players are/were with what they had. What I don't know is what those players would have been without certain things. I can only operate on what I know. This is precisely why these arguments are retarded in the first place. We're literally arguing nothing. And you're an idiot anyways, because you think LeBron is roided.

BR1986FB;1531019 wrote:No big "ifs." Give Jim Brown the same nutrition, weight training, drugs, etc that today's players have and he'll dominate. He'd be even bigger, strong & faster than he was back then. Just like if you take away your boy Lebron's nutrition, training, DRUGS (and yes, I do think he's roided), etc he's on a level playing field back in Jordan's day. He'd be better than most but he wouldn't be the dominant force he is today. Give Jordan today's advantages that Lebron has and their skill levels wouldn't even be close. (wasn't my intent to turn this into a hoops discussion)

You can't make these bling "assumptions" that today's players would be dominant back in previous times because they wouldn't have the same technology, etc that makes them great today.
I like how in order for these players of old times past to be even considered as a bench warmer status requires the training, nutrition level, etc. of the average joe of today's game. Thanks for arguing for my position that the players of today are 100000000x better than the trash of yesteryear.

Re-read the post. I did no such thing. Lebron in Jordan's era is no "megastar" without his gadgets.

LOL. BR is mad that his sports heros of yesteryear are now irrelevant. Lebron is better than Jordan, Hell Shaq is better than Jordan. Jordan would be like the KD of today's game, good but still second best.

Obviously you don't look in a mirror often. Your reputation has already preceded you with some of the stupidity you've been spewing.

Just weighing in....I don't think LeBron is "roided." Just a physical freak... like Megatron, Pryor, etc.

But I could be wrong..."roided" is a broad term with the advances in medicine these days.

Jordan is far from my "hero." Hated his guts. He was a Cavs "killer" but still the greatest to play the game.

Megatron would beat Sanders 8 out of 10 times.

Lebron without the "training", etc. would still be a top 3 player in Jordan's era, if not the best.

Although I think Jordan is ten times the player LeBron is, no way do I think LeBron is roided. He is an athletic freak

Based on what? Lebron is going to shatter all of Jordan's records and is the only player in NBA history that can guard all 5 positions. Jordan is overrated.

Yeah, in terms of being a natural "physical freak" they are similar....and that's where the comparison ends.
