I wouldn't base optimism on a person's hope regarding this situation. I wish you luck, You might need it if you do.

The truth lies in the remainder of that quote from Alexander Pope.

"[LEFT]Hope springs eternal in the human breast: Man never is, but always To be Blest.

despite so many examples to the negative, we should be optimistic about man, approach them with eternal hope.

The luck I wished you, you will need for it's not the optimism that bears the fruit of results but rather the action of man himself. Without that action, your desires of redemption are noting more than that, desires of one.

hardly just the desires of one, people find joy in seeing others redeemed, my hope is that it is greater than the schadenfreude that many enjoy.

With regards to this particular instance, it is the desire of but one.

I haven't seen providence of those taking pleasure from others dismay as it relates to this topic. It is only action that will change it if it did truly exist.

it begins with individual choices and then move toward a more communal hope for the effort toward redemption.

there is redemption for those of who reject theism. If they can move beyond selfishness, greed and bigotry they can be redeemed as human beings.
