See my post about Foster. Any other team without MJD, Foster, Adrian Peterson, etc and he's a starter. This would be an upgrade over Hillis.

I agree there, but the fact of the matter is he still was a backup. Don't fall for this he is worth a 1st round pick bullshit. I would laugh at the Texans and tell them to gtfo. As COA already stated, RBs are dime a dozen.

I can see Heckert trading the 2nd pick unfortunately. If that happens then i really hope they trade down, and it better be a trade rape.

Id def give up our 2nd for tate. Dudes got skill.

Anybody get the feeling we will be going blackmon at 4 since they haven't sniffed a wide out?

I can see that, but if they trade their 2nd pick, then I can also see them trading down to get that pick back.

Didn't Tate miss ALL over the season before last season with a broken ankle?

I'd be fine with a 2nd for him - he's a stud.

To me it's kind of like moving from McCoy to Flynn. Not a drastic upgrade over the production we are getting from the position to justify the price.

A 3rd is the most I would do as well considering how high we are picking. If we were picking in the high 50's it would be one thing, but that 2nd round pick is #37, which is high enough to still get a good player that could make an impact.

I would rather have Hillis and the #37 pick, than just Ben Tate.

Not unless they get Flynn. If they get Flynn I'd think Blackmon could be obvious unless they were to trade down a bit and opt for Michael Floyd. If they don't get Flynn I'm grinding my teeth because I'd bet on Tannehill.

Tate was the pick before Hardesty in the 2010 draft. I wish he had just fallen to the Browns then.

I hope we can get Flynn or Kolb. I don't care which as long as we get one. I want to take Claibourne at 4. He will far and away be the BPA. If we don't get one of those QB I will be too afraid we will use a 1st rounder on tannehill.

I was right, Tate missed all of his rookie season with a broken ankle.

Tate has something Hillis doesn't...an explosive burst.

I would trade our 2nd for Tate in a heartbeat. He would be an upgrade over Hillis.

[h=3]More Kolb-Browns talk[/h]9:54AM ET
[h=5]Kevin Kolb | Cardinals | Interested: Browns?[/h]
As the reports were trickling in last week on where Peyton Manning might sign, we focused on the next step for those interested teams: namely, what would happen to their incumbent starting QB? In the case of the Arizona Cardinals, the man in question is Kevin Kolb, who happens to have an option bonus due on March 17. The initial reaction was that the Cleveland Browns might make a good fit, based upon his relationship with Browns HC Pat Shurmur and GM Tom Heckert.
Insight emerged over the weekend that the Browns were not as into Kolb as some thought, although some believe that this could be a case of their playing it cool before pouncing if and when Kolb becomes available.
In a post on Tuesday morning, ESPN AFC North blogger Jamison Hensley discussed the link between the Browns and Kolb further, noting that Kolb may be Cleveland's best option. This is especially true given the relative price tag for Kolb in comparison to someone like Matt Flynn:
- Tim Kavanagh
[h=5]Jamison Hensley[/h]The value is better with Kolb
"Unlike Flynn, Kolb's contract will be much more reasonable because his stock is down after a disappointing first season in Arizona. Injuries and ineffectiveness left him 2-6 in his eight full games as a starter. But Kolb showed flashes during his time with the Eagles. At the very least, Kolb vs. [Colt] McCoy would be a stronger quarterback competition than McCoy against a rookie."
Tate is better than any running back they can get in the draft in the 2nd round.

Get Flynn in FA, pick Blackmon with the 4th pick and Richardson with the 22nd pick.

I don't think you could draft a RB with Tate's ability in the 3rd.

T-Rich won't be there at 22.

By the link I posted earlier it looks like the Browns will not pursue Flynn

Well I love LeMichael James. I think he'll probably be there in the 3rd. Doug Martin from Boise St, Pierce from Temple, Polk from Washington could all be available. I'd take them over Hillis. I'm not a believer in Hillis staying health.

That is interesting.

Not a fan of Flynn, but Richardson at 22 is interesting. Not sure where he is projected.

lol citing a bleacher report. Might as well cite Durkie's browns blog. It has more credibility.
