Jason Campbell is off the board now to Chicago, Orton is rumored to be heading to Dallas possibly, and they were the best of the also rans.

I didn't want them, but to me either would have been an upgrade over McCoy.

As the QB's come off the board, if we don't land Flynn it is literally going to end up being Tannehill at 4 or another season of McCoy.

The market is just so thin for QB's right now that Flynn is going to end up being drastically overpaid by a desperate team.
The Browns would never take Tannehill at 4. Never, ever, ever, ever, ever. Class dismissed.

"Forced" to take Tannehill? Sorry, but nothing about him impresses me. 1 year wonder as a starter in a terrible defensive conference doesn't exactly scream "franchise savior".

A couple of weeks ago I would have agreed. The way things are shaping up though, I think it is increasingly possible it could possibly happen somewhere in the top 10 if they can get down a few picks.

He won't be there at 22, and they can't go into next season with Colt as the QB.

IggyPride00;1115345 wrote:$20 million guaranteed to Matt Flynn for anyone is a disaster waiting to happen.

If he doesn't have that 6 touchdown game he is looking at a quarter of that as guaranteed money, it would be craziness.

I hope you are correct that it is not being considered right now.
I don't understand, you'd be cool with us throwing multiple first round picks for rg3 (an unproven commodity), but upset if we gave up a bunch of money (which isn't yours) to another (mostly) unproven commodity?

Here it is......

We all know McCoy is not a franchise QB, but it could be argued Flynn is a glorified McCoy, which just so happens to only have 2 really good starts. Here is the question you have to ask yourselves......

Is hope worth 40/50 million in guaranteed money that isn't yours to spend to go get Flynn.

if this was baseball...I would love it, but with a capped sport you have to be smart. This is a make or break deal for the franchise

No it's not. You guys just get obsessed w/ high coveted QBs because you can't stand Colt McCoy (which i mean, is fine...but don't sound stupid when you make the argument) so you want him to be replaced by RG3.

RG3 and Flynn both have the same exact chances of busting. And they both have the same exact ceilings--greatest QB ever. And you can say that about any QB ever, and it would still be true (even if it has a <.1% chance of being true). Point is, nobody knows who is going to be great or bust, so might as well take your chances on someone you don't have to mortgage your next 2 drafts over, and someone who worst case scenario you just simply cut him and take the cap hit.

Just because eeeeeeeeverybody says RG3's upside is greater, doesn't make it true.

Eeeeeeeverybody didn't think Brady had an upside, was that true?

Hey... if Boston fans are done with him, we will happily take him here in Browns country.

Colt McCoy... straight up... how about it? haha

Did I say that Flynn's upside was better? NO. I just wouldn't say that RG3's upside is that much greater than Flynn's. We haven't really seen what either QB can do.

Mulva I'll give you Reps for that even I laughed.

Sounds like the Browns ARE in discussions with Houston for a trade for RB Ben Tate, This would be a good get. Sounds like Hillis to KC is a lock. Jeremy Mincey & Robert Meachem both off the market. Valuable WR pool dwindling significantly. And in the most WTF moment, it sounds like Mario Williams may only look at BUFFALO. Holmgren's gotta be wringing his hands because I've heard this "isn't his style" (sit on your hands and do virtually nothing).

St. Louis may lose Brandon Lloyd, as he is visiting SF. We may be able to trade rape them for a shot at Blackmon if he goes elsewhere.

And these Flynn rumors are mind boggling if true. Way too much money....and no OL or WR. Seems about right for this franchise.

The only positive is the Ben Tate possibility.
