Apparently, Shurmur is developing a temper (or showing it) at practice.

Today, Hardesty dropped an easy pass over the middle and immediately came to the sidelines and did several pushups; then took a knee for several plays while the backup (can't spell his name yet) went in.

Reports were that Shurmur was barking more at people for making mistakes.

Perhaps he's decided they've had enough time to learn the offense and shouldn't be regularly screwing up, anymore. It will be interesting to see if that fire goes with him to the sideline during a game.

Glad to see he's holding players accountable. However I dont want him turning into Erica Womangini.

I think McCoy is on a one year trial period. If he excels, which would be the "ideal", they fill other holes. If not, they use one of those 1sts on a QB. I think they will get a deal done with Hillis but at THEIR (Browns) price.

All this being said, the media needs to shut their holes and quit stirring shit up. The story on the front page of the PD this morning penned by Mary Kay Crap-ot was just that, SHIT! She twisted Holmgren's words into "Browns will let Hillis hit free agency." F'in hacks.

Time for the "pups" to put on their "big boy pants." Shurmur needs to be up in their face. This is a winnable game and I think he realizes this.

I don't know how you judge McCoy at all....New offense, no pre season time to prepare, no credible receivers, bull rushed from the blind side....and an offensive game plan that seems to take nothing of this in account. When given a modicum of protection and someone to throw the ball to (read Little), and a credible running threat (read Hillis) he seems quite capable of moving the team downfield. Alex Mack was quoted admitting that they weren't prepared for the Raider's blitzes. What? Why not?
If McCoy's future as the starting QB is not certain, it is more likely it is because that he won't survive the physical pounding, rather than his lack of ability.

You're right about the O-Line, WR's, etc BUT when the WR's are getting open, and they ARE, McCoy has been missing them BADLY. I knew coming in he had a noodle arm ala Quinn, Frye, etc but the ONE thing I knew he had going for him was ACCURACY. Doesn't need to have a cannon if he can fit a bowling bowl through a pin hole. The problem is, he hasn't been accurate. THAT'S a MAJOR concern in this offense.

Exactly. We're supposed to deal with his arm because he's supposedly accurate. Now if I had to watch Hardesty drop 15 balls I'd probably have my confidence shattered too, but he's missed some wide open throws this year (pass to Massaquoi on the first drive of the Oakland game comes to mind immediately). What's REALLY bad is that he's been so inaccurate in perfect weather conditions. You think he's bad now, just wait til the temperature drops and the wind picks up and he looks like Akili Smith out there. Sorry, but the Browns need someone with a stronger arm and someone that can play in bad weather and McCoy is not that guy.

Meh, the WRs being open is very rare. When they get open normally Colt is running for his life. I agree with Hits. I think its ridiculous to make a decision on Colt based on one season. There are plenty of QBs who took their bumps and bruises one season (let alone a QB with no offseason) then came back next season looking like a completely different guy. Fix the oline and Colt will be fine imo
