I talk about the draft year round. Doesn't matter what slot they're picking in. Should have two nice picks this year in that I don't see the Falcons making the playoffs. Nothing wrong with talking about areas of need and who might be available.

And what's wrong with talking about your teams' needs? That's what this board is for....to have discussions. They could be 5-0 and we would still be talking about their needs.

He is just trolling. Somebody from Cleveland must have hurt his feelings because 95% of his posts are geared toward taking jabs at Cleveland teams. Shows how weak minded he is that SQ got under his skin.

The funny part is that I thought he was a Browns fan?

Pretty easy to poke jabs at fans of other teams when you don't make it know who your team is.

No you wouldn't but the Browns haven't seen 5-0 since 1963 so it's pretty much unprovable.

The LA Lakers, I bet he's a GB Packers fan though. I'm sure he has a story as to why it's his team and I'm sure we'll here the nod to Packers team from the late 80s to really cement his fanhod. SMH, pathetic.

I am a Browns fan, one that doesn't accept this crap they have been spewing out since 1999. They can't even get hiring a Head Coach right 5 in the last 11 years. smh

I know I would. Talking about the draft and future needs isn't just an "oh shit, we suck again...can't wait for the draft" response for some.

Report today in the Akron paper that Holmgren was quoted as saying that McCoy's and Hillis' future in Cleveland is not assured. I guess the old saying "What have you done for me lately?" applies.

Your team is 5-0 and your going to be concerned with who they could possibly draft 9 months from now?

Well at that point it's not being concerned, as it is discussing your future for the team. What is wrong with talking about the future draft? You are a joke

That's the philosophy of all pro sports teams -- and has been since, forever. That's why NFL contracts aren't all guaranteed and tend to be front-loaded.

As for people who whine about wanting to keep changing coaches...the man has coached half a dozen games and we're ready to say, "Next!" That would be really, really stupid. One sure sign that a franchise will never, ever improve is constantly changing head coaches.

Honestly, Shurmur has shown some good things and some bad so far; not unexpected. What I think he really needs is an offensive coordinator so he can focus on the team overall. If he still wants to have a hand in play calls, fine, but let someone else focus on what defenses are doing and how to counter it during games. It's a full time job by itself.

If after a few years (I think new coaches typically should be given 3 years to see what they can do) and he's still making rookie mistakes, you start looking for a replacement. But give him time to establish what he wants to do, get personnel that fit his schemes, and see if it's successful. You can't do that in one year.

I would say "what have you ever done for me?" is more appropriate in Colt McCoy's case. It's not like he was terrific last season and has fallen off this year.

True.

I love Colt's competitiveness and character, but I'm not so sure he's the guy either.

Granted, his best WR is a rookie and the right side of the line is trash, plus he hasn't had much of a running game this year. I don't know if you can make a sure fire call on him quite yet.

Even Hillis hasn't proven what he can do over an extended period of time. Rueben Droughns put up 1232 yards for the Browns in 2005. Hillis had 1177 last year. You don't give a RB a huge contract based upon one season.

I wouldn't bail on him yet either. Just saying it isn't really a "lately" situation. There are obviously bigger problems to fix though.
