I handle the day-to-day finances. She handles the taxes. We just decided to do it that way based on strengths.

You know, I still hear a lot of that "just wait until ..."

It never happened with my wife and I, and there's not even a real struggle about it. Naturally, the fact that she doesn't try to make our relationship a power struggle makes me WANT to make her happy, so I actually go out of my way to do things to make her happy. I guess if that's on purpose, then she's a relationship wizard, but I'm okay with it, because at this point, she's showing respect, and generally making me happy, so I don't mind returning the favor.

She pays the bills. I handle the budget and investments. I'm the only one that has access to our savings and investments ( Sharebuilder, Fidelity, Merrill Lynch), and I've learned to only put enough in checking that keeps her on a monthly budget. If she just saw the big numbers in savings she would be shopping daily.

I don't have any money or a wife. So I handle my own debt and school loans.

Such is the life of a student.

We are poor, so there isn't much to handle.

I handle them. Her burden in caring for our family is great enough. She would not want the burden. Limiting the stress on my wife pays dividends.
