Who takes care of the checkbook, bills, reconciliation, etc? In my house, it is me. Wife was not good (when she was single) at paying her bills on time, so I gladly took the responsibility.

50/50 responsibility.

I make it. My wife spends it.

And if you are single, just mark your gender, b/c obviously you are the one that does it.

Based on all your threads, this is common knowledge around the OC.

This. However my wife makes monies too...just not nearly as much as I.

I think I forget how to write a check or fill out a bill to be honest....

My wife is way too high strung to remember to pay bills. If her shoe needed tied, it would be the most frantic mess to make sure it got tied, and she couldn't believe all that she had to do, and tying her shoe was not in her plans.

There will be multiple males who will claim they handle the finances...and the rest of us will know they are 1. Lying or 2. Seriously Delusional.

While I agree, I actually do handle them. I am too OCD about money to let anyone else handle it.

My wife couldn't tell you what amount we owe on a water bill or our Amex card. She hasn't seen a bill in more than twenty years. This is not necessarily a good thing.

While I agree with you, you just made a claim on another person, so the burden of proof is now on you.

You take care of the bills, she takes care of the curb appeal of your house. Win/win.

Are you kidding? I've seen WAY too many situations where the spouse has control of the finances and either a) screws them up or b) gets a hair up their ass and empties the account. I pay all of the bills.

In the words of Stone Cold Steve Austin..."DTA."

Unlike some of you all (thavoice especially) I haven't had my balls chopped off by some woman. So, I handle all finances, and even if/when i get married, I will be sure to handle the finances. The only thing I trust women doing for me is making sammiches in the kitchen.

Edit: And doing my laundry.

I just know too many chicks that would give away the store for a bag of magic beans. I handle this stuff, ALWAYS.

I voted share..

Wife pays bills online and deals with things related to health insurance (HRA, HSA, etc.).

I manage the investment things (both 401k's, Roth IRA, daughters 529, etc). We are paying a ton extra on our student loans right now to pay them off within 1.5 years, so I keep spreadsheets of where all of the extra is going.

My wife handles all the bills and spending tracking. I do way too much of that at work, that is the last thing I want to do with my personal life. I just basically spend whatever I want though and she doesn't care.

This is what you say now......just wait till some woman, or tranny, sinks their teeth into you and that shit will all change. I said the same shit you just did before I got married.

I realize there is def the potential that can happen, but I have figured out a plan that can hopefully prevent that. If a woman wants to be in a relationship with me, I am going to lay out the guidelines and might have her sign a contract.

-Must maintain sex quota
-Must not bitch about petty bullshit
-Don't fucking talk to me on Sundays, especially if/when the Browns lose. (placing your mouth on my penis is a good way of preventing yourself from talking)
-etc

I still need to work on that contract, but if they don't agree to it or break the guidlines, then the relationship is terminated.
