Heretic;739124 wrote:Something about the rape scene in the original version that's kinda disturbing, too. Mainly because, afterwards, the demeanor of the gang gives off this temporary, "Whoa...did we really go THIS far?" vibe. Like the raping itself was a pissed-off reaction to her nearly escaping and when it was over, they realized they crossed some moral point of no return.

And then, about 10-15 minutes later, after the girl's parents find out what happened, the mom seduces one of the gang members solely to castrate him with her teeth.

Unfortunately, scattered throughout the film were these inexplicable stupid comedy bits with two bumbling Dukes of Hazzard-style cops trying to accomplish things. Detracted from the disturbing nature of the whole kidnapping/torturing/raping backbone of the movie.

I read the plot summary, and just watched that scene on youtube. Yes, I understand why it is pretty disturbing, but it took a raping to actually realize they went too far lol? From the looks of the clip and what I read on the summary, they chopped a fucking bitch's arm off, and the one lady pulled some of her internal organs out. They didn't think they were going too far at the point lol?

The stabbing of the Jewish soldier in Saving Private Ryan isn't disturbing, but tough to watch.

To me, it was kinda along the lines of them being like frenzied animals while torturing and raping the girls (and killing the first) and after they were done raping the second one, they realized just how far they'd gone and seemed to feel a bit uncomfortable for a moment before putting her out of her misery and moving on.

To make the scene even more disturbing, from a trope website I visit....
Enforced Method Acting: On the special edition DVD actors commentary track, the actors playing Krug and Weasel boast about how they terrorised the actresses playing Mari and Phyllis, right down to hinting during the filming of the rape scene that they'd go ahead and actually commit the act if they didn't think the actresses' performances were convincing enough. They seem to think this is awesome.
I suppose that might be why the guy who played Krug wound up playing similar roles for the rest of his career. Creepy guy playing creepy guys. And I think the guy who played Weasel was a porn producer.

That's because it's fucking gnarly. Especially for a film from the 20s. Salvidor Dali is the man.

Also agree with Casino and Deliverance.

From a newer movie, the last scenes of The Last Exorcism. I don't want to ruin (though the movie wasn't that good, imo) the last scene but it involves a pregnant teenage girl and a crazy religious ceremony.

Anyone ever seen The Holy Mountain?

It's disturbing, but in an "Am I tripping on acid?" kind of way.

I think so. It was 5 AM, and I'd just gotten a letter from someone who used to stalk my wife's family. It didn't help.

I was just reading the plot of that movie, cuz my roommate has seen it and said it was a pretty bad movie but good for some "OH SHIT!" moments haha

The rape scenes are typically the worst for me.

Though I think the clip was quick, the image of the dead baby in Trainspotting (think that was the movie) is burned in my mind. It could be that I had an infant at the time I originally watched it or that a friend whose infant passed away had an open casket (was NOT expecting that at all when the people in front of me moved out of the way at the visitation).

Also, having always been disgusted by needles, I still cringe when I think about Michael jabbing the nurse in the eye in Halloween II. For a few weeks after seeing that as a kid, I would get physically ill thinking about it (but couldn't get it out of my head).

Had a dorm mate at OU in 1987 that claimed that was one of the greatest movies ever. He was a grad student on a full ride and ended up going to Cannes as one of the top film students in the country. He even named his dog Andalou.

The film's impalement scene was examined by the courts to determine whether the special effects were genuine.

The scene where Kathy Bates steps out of the hot tub nude in "About Schmidt" was pretty disturbing.

(Sorry, couldn't find the link on Youtube).

Am I the only one who thought the scene from Law Abiding Citizen was disturbing how he kills the second murderer? I guess they never showed anything too intense, but just the whole premise of it...damn

I want to see this movie so bad, but the only place I've found it is through the mail via Netflix. I just have to get around to subscribing to mail.

I agree the whole premise was pretty crazy.

Whoever said Requiem for a Dream, by far the worst part of the movie is the Electro Shock that the mom got.

Curb Stomp- American History X

In Alpha dog when they kill the kid at the end. Not really disturbing but for some reason I was really pissed off at the end and wanted to kill JT and that other guy myself...lol Probably because I know that is based on a true story.
