Regarding the Pryor comments. Was he wrong about that? OSU fans keep bringing that up, but could that have been a case where he was actually (in his mind) defending the honor of his program. Perhaps he wouldn't say something about another school's player like that because he doesn't care as much about what players at other schools do to taint the good name of those programs?

Aside from that, I was talking about his comments regarding Pryor. As a former Buckeye QB, maybe Pryor's poor representation of the university in that same position does piss him off. If that is what is driving his comments (or even his vote), isn't that really showing pride/loyalty/whatever - perhaps he is concerned about the school's image because he feels that same "connection" that all the fans who are criticizing him have? Someone said they want him to say the same things about other schools; well, what other schools do may not have as much of a personal impact on him. Maybe?

So what is it that he said about Pryor that wasn't true? He may not go into as much depth on other players who have been as big of fucktards as Pryor because nobody really cares what Herbstreit thinks about those guys. Obviously there was interest in how Herbstreit felt about his alma mater having the negative attention.

Reading the whole conversation where (I think) the "attack" originated, I can't really find anything that isn't a reasonable opinion.

It's unprofessional and he deserves every bit of grief he's getting. The whining to the media about how harassed he has been as he leaves town, is just more unprofessional actions, and isn't a surprise.

As far as what wb said, I don't dislike OSU. The fact is, they have been giving people ample reasons to criticize them for years. It started with Prisoner #13MCOSB, went to Troy Smith and got to Terrelle Pryor and the Tattoo Parlor Team. That's not opinion. It is fact.

As has been said, he has taken liberties with plenty of other schools. Steve Breaston:
"(Receiver Steve) Breaston can go back to whatever he's doing these days, if they could ever find a way to actually apply him in the offense. He's worthless in my mind, outside of returning a few punts. I'll say that, and he'll end up winning the game for them on Nov. 18. But he hasn't done anything since his freshman year."

He also ripped Matt McGloin and drilled Syracuse as a place that will never win in football.
