In response to this :

"Jordan you screwed with the wrong Dude!! TRUST ME! This is despicable!
I will now give up my house if necessary . I will move my family to Colorado Springs where we have had a out pouring of support. And then I'am coming for you ! And hell is coming with Me. Legally, Ground roots up . Your organization will not stand as it stands today when Iam done. If you want to join me [email protected]. We will be starting a Stop the Idiots at the OHSAA Facebook page soon. We will start a legal fund to strip your out of control Safety devoid good ole boy system! Sports are suppose to be pure and devoid of old nasty men in suits kicking little children in the nut&. What if a random group of kids could strip you of your job for a year just because your retirement home Daddy filled a piece paper out wrong!.!! You would scream like a little B&%$#! Jordan again ....You are the biggest hypocrite in the universe for drilling me with questions today more than any other member on that board today... You are a disgrace, Pat schlatter told me the stoties about you and he was on the money. I see what David see's now!"

Hummm I dont think you would be on here ranting if you would have given up your house in the first place as stated by the rules. Rules are rules. Right or wrong.....it is what it is. Follow the rules or dont play.

But,
Keep things in perspective,
It is a blip on the radar screen, it is very very small hurdle in life.
They will lose a chance to put a couple of awards around their necks...not a big deal in the big picture.

They are not the first to get screwed by the system and nor will they be the last

Good luck in the "off season". Come back next year and compete to the best of your abilities with sportsmanship and effort.
Sqeek, you are correct. This not the first time and will not be the last. We had an incident a while back here in Fairfield County where a boy moved into the school district from Texas, his parents still lived in Texas, he moved to Ohio to live with his grandparents. OSHAA ruled him ineligible since neither of his parents lived in Ohio, and his grandparents did not have legal custody rights. This kid was not the next Pele, he just wanted to play soccer, was not going to college or anything as far as I can remember....THEY RULED HIM INELLIGABLE! This kid was a senior, I believe our state rep finally got involved and for what it's worth the ruling was changed, however it was too late for this kid, his season was done by the time the ruling came out.

Falcon81, This makes me wonder, did you ever call your state rep to see if they could get involved? It's worth a shot if the facts are truley that this is a mis-interpreted ruling, if there truley is an injustice, and your state rep agrees, the State Rep could make a HUGE difference.

With that said, if there are any questions or concerns that the family was living in both locations, they probably don't touch it.

"It's a private organization with no more public reporting requirement than any other private organization. "We" are not owed a thing. " - Queencitybuckeye

Why does a private organization have authority over the lives of student athletes who attend public & private schools? If this is the case than maybe school administrators need to band together and drop out of the OHSAA or form a new organization committed to public conflict resolution and appeals. What are they afraid of? That they may be exposed for the political, sadistic hacks that they are?

As far as getting a state rep involved, I am not so sure that would be a good idea. Heck, they can't even figure out how to fund our schools or balance a budget.

...because the public and private schools agreed to grant said authority.

I ask, with the upcoming "competition balance referendum" coming up for vote, is this the organization the members truly wish to give unlimited power over all schools regarding putting them in any division they deem appropriate???

It's really a silly concept when you boil it down to the most basic premise.

From the OHSAA Website. Does this sound like the organization we have seen over the last few years??????????????

OHSAA Commitment
The Ohio High School Athletic Association is committed to serving its member schools by being the nation's premier non-profit athletic administration organization.
We will:

Provide exemplary athletic oversight through swift, fair, consistent and impartial regulatory rulings;

Operate with openness that generates trust and with strict fiscal accountability;

Provide impartial, responsive and inclusive leadership;

Conduct tournaments of nationally recognized excellence; and

Honor our ultimate purpose, which is to foster lifelong values, good citizenship, ethics and a fair-play approach to life among student-athletes while promoting safe and sporting-like athletic environments

If you feel strongly enough re: your position you should get an injunction, if not let it go now.

We proved beyond a shadow of doubt that my entire family lived the majority of time in the Apple creek home. My oldest 3 kids are emancipated and can live any where They please. You only have to meet legally that you live there 51 percent of the time where you sleep the Majority of the time ,51 percent. We had Affidavits from School administration that they visited our Home 14 times, and 14 times we were there. The landlord attested we there with a affidavit. The Neighbors testified we were there with a affidavit. TeamMates testified we were there and even slept over with us several times with a affidavit. All our family filled out affidavits we lived there. THE OHSAA HAD NOT ONE AFFIDAVIT OR EYE WITNESS BUT WENT WITH THE SECRET PACKET AND THE UNIDENTIFIED TUSLAW CITIZENS with ZERO proof! SHAM, SHAM, SHAM!!!! It was not a hearing . My wife my self and my twins did not even get to give our statements and explain anything. They said there was not enough time. A TOTAL DISGRACE TO THE AMERICAN DREAM AND STANDARDS OF DUE PROCESS and FAIRNESS!!!!

The Public Education System in Ohio is dysfunctional. The concept of mandating that a particular student attend a particular building regardless of the positives and negatives contained within that building as they pertain to that student does not fulfill the mission of education. It perpetuates the building and the system contained with that building. The choice of a student’s education belongs with the family, without the “blackmail” of losing their property tax dollars or their child’s athletic eligibility if they make an educational choice other than what the State of Ohio mandates. There has to be a voucher system that travels with each student in Ohio to be used at any recognized location in Ohio, allowing each family to make individual choices for their student.

It has been a painful experience to follow the Nelson twins’ problems with the Ohio educational system. It has likewise been an uplifting experience to watch the twins on the wrestling mat even though it resulted in a loss for my son. From my vantage point, wrestling and wrestlers in the state of Ohio will suffer from the loss of ability, character and competition the twins bring to the sport. This society needs to strive towards excellence, this situation is at the very least one step in the wrong direction.

The Ohio educational system is a problem crying out for solutions based in individual choice.

I am wary to even chime in, but the term "emancipated" is not just turning 18. I ran into this with one of my wrestlers when I coached in an urban school district. It is fully self-supporting below the age of 16, either through parent misconduct (prob not the case), marriage (maybe), legal removal of parental rights and a few more instances.

http://definitions.uslegal.com/e/emancipation/

If you are saying they are 18 (in college, working, whatever) then it does seem reasonable that they could live wherever. It seems really fuzzy, and OHSAA doesn't do fuzzy, it seems.

While I am on, and I may regret this, I don't think you helped matters with all the posting. Maybe it established some grassroots. However, you painted YOURSELF as an unsympathetic figure with most posts. Many people will root against someone who is not favored.

I'm sure your boys are great kids. I'm sorry they are ineligible. But I don't think OhioChatter helped with OHSAA. When I know someone has spoken ill about me, I am not inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt regarding any matters.

Sir , my oldest 3 kids are 21, 24 and 26! They still can not live where they want??LOL?

We as a Nation can not withhold our Voices on injustice to appease old men in suits who can use their power to harm us . The OHSAA has built their own little Kingdom. Made HS athletics their own little Play ground. Our children are but Pawns to demonstrate the OHSAA'S power. They now even spit in the EYE of our Superintendents by removing them from any decisions even if its an extreme safety issue!
HOW MANY TAX PAYERS WOULD GO ALONG WITH THAT IN A SPECIAL ELECTION. NO SUPERINTENDENT ALLOWED TO PROTECT A STUDENT ATHLETE NONE!! OHSAA Voted the Superintendents out last year!!! No one in your tax supported school has any rights now to protect children(IF THEY PLAY SPORTS...LOL)...None. THIS IS CRAZY AND WRECKLESS!!!!!!

Falcon, I probably shouldn't speak for Nightflyer However, I don't think he was saying you should be ruled against , I think what he was saying that if you hammer an organization as was done on here, common sense will tell ya they are not going to give you any benefit of doubt... I think that's what he was saying, it probably didn't help your cause.

Not to say I wouldn't have done it either if I felt I was being wronged, I know I would have as well. The one thing I would have done was got my state rep involved even before my attorneys, I think this would have helped.

Sorry about yuor boys, that does stink for them and your family....It seems to me that OHSAA could have worked this out where they got to wrestle....

When My Lawyers educated me on how OHSAA worked and that they are a Private club..Well it shocked me! When my Lawyers educated me that the laws of the United State of America do not apply and can not be used in the Hearing ...I was shocked! When I was told MY own Twins , My Wife and I would not get to address our accusers or Jury ..I was shocked!! This is a SHAM!! The OHSAA will not shut me up because I am afraid what you will do to my childen!! I was shocked when My attorney's told me if we go to court next week the OHSAA may increase the penalty on the twins...That is beyond my belief that that can even be threatened or suggested!!!!

I'am only one man....I plead with every Veteran, Father, businessman, Coach, Fan, Mother ....Please call the OHSAA.....flood their circuit boards and tell them you want your Superintends rights back... That rule alone changed back and my twins would be wrestling right now!!!!! Call you congressman if you have a relationship with him.....it may be to late for my sons but lets instill some common sense in the system before more MODEL STUDENT ATHLETES with perfect records in and out of school are punished unjustly!!!

All private Clubs that make their living from our Public Schools should have By- Laws that respect our constitution and reflect its Due process and they should have to take a second position under the Schools head executive the Superintendent!! Who with any sound Judgement could possibly argue that especially in a extreme safety and welfare situation??

I pose another question...If the OHSAA is interested in stopping out of control transfers why has it never gone after one single major program that has 70 percent of its line up over decades that are mostly Transfers????? Answer....Because they do have a congressmen in the family to protect them! Conclusion ....The OHSAA is totally corrupt!!
