Oldschool.....you're telling me. I am reading these posts and you know what....where in the hell are some of you going with it??

Listen as a Campbell guy here is the bottom line. PERIOD.

Struthers is as ready as any team we have faced thus far and THEN SOME. We have just as much of a chance to lose this game as we do to win it. Their program is on the up as is ours. To me...PERFECT TIMING to bring back a rivalry I have missed for some time now. Last year saw a glimer of hope to get the rivalry back on track. This year shows even more promise. Struthers has speed and size and a young inexperienced QB with alot of promise for sure. Without actually seeing them compete this year I still know one thing....We will NOT walk over them. If we do, everything is clicking and falling right in place and the Gods are with is on Friday night. This is a rivalry game and anything can happen in an emotional battle such as this.

Campbell football is showing huge sign of an awakening of a sleeping giant. Trust me, if he does awaken completely....oh are we in for a treat. We lost in my opinion our best player early in the season and we have been able to weather the storm up to this point. We have alot of talent and I dont know who is bigger up front but Struthers had better not think that their offensive line does not have their hands full with 77, 40, 44, 9, 59, 52, 20, and 50. Because trust me, they are coming and they are coming hard in my opinion. I honestly believe this game is going to be witness to alot of hard hitting action. I also believe the weather will play a huge role. We have several offensive packages we run but the weather will allow or limit that. I think either way we are comfortable with being able to have some success using any of the packages we have. We also have a ton of weapons and a very good kicker. Now either that plays out to be a factor or it doesnt this Friday.

Fact is this, come friday there is a war taking place at 7:00 at Struthers High School and I will be there....rain or no rain.

One more thing, I take offense to one comment that has been made on several occasions in this friendly game of trash talk. This idea of Campbell thugs and stereotyping my town as such annoys me. It has for 40 years. Along with the notion we have a lack of educated minds in my town. Anytime you want to step up to the plate son and test the mind from a Campbell guy to a Struthers guy, please by all means have at it. But before you do that, you may want to learn how to spell and use proper grammer. You know, before you talk about lack of education in my town. Try telling that to the more than one hundred doctors that have graduated from my school over the past three decades. Seriously, I tire of this bologna.

And here is my jab by the way and it is the truth times 100. I learned this after a short conversation with your ex mayor who is a jackass to put it nicely. The funny thing about Struthers is that you poor folks do not realize something. You try desperately to break away from us. You try desperately to disguise yourselves as another Poland or Canfield. However here is the sad news.... You're not. You are an old steel mill town that has seen many of it's families leave due to lack of industry within the city....watching numbers dwindle in terms of population. You have good areas of town and bad areas. You are a culturally diverse town just like us. You sit on the Mahoning just like us. You do however have a ....ummmmm.....beautiful downtown area full of shopping surprises. That's sarcasm. But hey, I have to be jealous of your pathetic downtown because I don't even have one. You people even have the audacity to consider Poland your rival. Poland has to constantly remind you they do not care about that game. You are stuck with us Struthers because you are in the same damn boat. So when you make the comments you make about Campbell kids....Do it standing in front of a mirror.

I have too much respect for this rivalry to talk trash. This game will be good. Just like all the rest. I was fortunate to have played in this game with a title on the line and it is good to see it back again with that same intensity.

i agree but lets be realistic guys...struthers is 4-5 for a reason. coulda woulda shoulda won 6 games...thats all garbage. the qb has 17 picks for a reason. put pressure on him all day and make him make a mistake. they better double 77...and they better double 40 lol. pressure the qb and well be fine...our cornerbacks need to make tackles on all the screens and quick plays and well be fine. force them to have to throw the ball vertically and well be fine. campbell 27 struthers 7 by the way letlow has been destroying anyone coming across the middle so all you struthers players that are on here, make sure you got your chin straps on.

Some of you guys need to grow up! Let the kids play the game and continue the long legacy between the two schools. I seen Struthers on tape and they are atypical Struthers team that plays hard all game. They let a couple games slip by but thats how football is! This should be a great game too watch. I wish I could be their but I have a game Friday night. Throw the records out because it doesn't matter. Both schools will fight til the end. I hope the people from both towns pack Struthers stadium like the olden days.

Pride i know i belted some insults on this forum... You know if you go back on all my post from here it has never happen... I dont know why that set me off and i dont apologize. But when they start smacking the city and huddlers here i consider it a nasty example of who is calling who!!! But like i said and what ever people take it as it is... But if you look at the great big picture. We have been down long enough' as the same for struthers. But would we kick stuthers from there league?? would we not open our doors to struthers if they need a home? cause when there board of education turn its back on there football team over busing? that's exactly what we dd!! If you remember that we open our harts and our community when we took in some players from struthers!!! We did not boo them, we cheered them as our own.. Did we not support the struthers football team in many ways when it was suspended? I remember the shirts so well.... I use to be a cat but the devil made me do it!!! we where very proud to welcome them... So if you want to trash our community you go right ahead! we have more class in my middle finger then you do as a human being This is supposed to be about football not education not who has a better city! or who can call what when and where... I like the little video that Ohio put up!! That's how your supposed act!! take pride in your team and show them why you think who will beat who.. name calling and trash talk never wins games..

I could not agree more with pride and oldschool....The trash talking on this game is probably between actual players or those of you whom never played a down...It is very comical though I must say that. The kids will play it out on friday, so nothing said here really matters until friday night when the game is played between the lines not through a keyboard lol...great rivalry hopefully the rain holds off...

What you don't understand is.. its NOT 1975 OR 1990 ANYMORE!!! Lets get real. You can ask anyone in the valley, and they will tell you the difference between the two towns. That was moronic.

I wonder what approach the red devils will take for this one...ive seen them go old school and throw every down...I want to see a little more balance and some play action....

Struthers should run the ball heavily this game and use thier stable of backs, includding thier qb who is much better on the ground then in the air, but if needed so i think they will be able ot spread out the field use thier speed and strength to gain yards. i predict a high scoring game in the higher 20's or lower 30's

listen we know struthers isnt going to pound the ball in the traditional sense of the word...if the struthers posters think were going back and telling sikora guess what we read on ohio chatter theyre gonna run the ball!!!! come on...just stop. the staff gets three game films and im sure theyve broken them down twice already, we know what your going to do. you prob dont know what were going to do...hell, i dont know! we passed against champion, ran against girard, 50/50 against falls...but thats what makes us so hard to defend. and im sure alot will have to do with what personnel and packages struthers lines up on defense. we audible alot at the line, we have those capabilities. so i guess well see...on a side note, unfortunately i had to drive through struthers today and i saw a "beat campbell" sign up in a front yard. not gonna lie it made me laugh, but its good to see that the rivalry is picking up some hatred again. sooner1 who do you coach for???

Campbell will indeed be bigger up front. Here are the weights of the Campbell offensive line:

#79 tackle - Abron 290
#59 tackle - McWilson 300
#54 guard - Pagan 263
#75 center - Guidos 255
#52 guard - Martinez 221

#50 Benedis sometimes lines up at guard if Campbell is not in the stacked-I. He's 210 pounds. Sikora sometimes lines up in the backfield to block for Hughes. Sikora is 210 pounds and is as strong as they come. Defensively, Campbell is smaller up front than their offensive line, most likely smaller than the offensive line Struthers will put out there. But they are quick. #77 Burnett and # 40 Little are players to watch on the defensive line, as well as Martinez who plays both ways. Williams is one DE. Horvath and sometimes #56 Miller is the other defensive end. Sikora, Clinkscales, Opencar, and Benedis are linebackers who will see playing time. None of us are certain what is going to happen in this game. That's why the game is being played. I have not seen Struthers. I have seen Campbell each and every week. I am sure Struthers will be ready. So will Campbell.

Oldschool said it best....there needs to be respect for this rivalry. Many of you don't have a clue what this rivalry means or the history of it. For the guy who thinks the past means nothing let me explain something to you. The past means everything and these kids on both sides need to know what the past meant in this game. Because like it or not this is a fact......You will never know who you are or where you are going until you realize who you were and where you've been son. Don't strain your brain thinking about it.

The history of this game is amazing. 90 years of some of the greatest football ever played in this Valley. Hell they had to stop the 1933 game because of fear it was getting to violent down on the field. When the rivalry was stopped in the 90's and Struthers was one of the teams that voted us out of the MVC....that was like a brother stabbing you in the back. When the Board cancelled football in Struthers for a year....that was the most disgusting thing I have ever seen. Jim Musolino never got that first down in the 85' game. Nobody could tell me different. I still cant believe how wide open Dom Leon was in the 87' game. What a heartbreaker for us. How about how strong the Cats were with Gary Zetts at QB in I believe the late 60's when they won if i am not mistaken back to back SVC titles. Does that name sound familiar Struthers??? He is our offensive cooridinator. How about our head coach Mickey Sikora.....played for Struthers. His son is one of the best LB's ever to play for Campbell. His Father was an outstanding football player for the Red Devils on some of the most dominating John Knapick teams this city has ever seen. How about Carlin Adams rushing for 309 yards in the 91' game in lesss than three qtrs!!!!! Struthers was down big and almost came all the way back in one of the craziest finishes the rivalry has ever saw. We have had Horvaths on our team...so has Struthers. We have had Lanzo's on our team...so Has Struthers. We have had Sikora's on our team...so has Struthers. All RELATED!!!!!!! You ever listen to Grandfathers talk about Struthers week when they worked in the Mill together and the fights and arguments and bragging rights that whole week leading up to the game that never saw less than 10,000 people there???

So what I am saying is this.....you respect this damn rivalry because it deserves that much. Know the history. Don't ever tell me how unimportant the history of this game is Spread all day long. The Cats and the Devils have struggled to find who they are this entire decade. However the Cats more often than not have indeed found some light each season by usually beating the Devils. Especially a dark four years in a row period. But I think the tide is changing. I think that this Valley has indeed begun to see the awakening of a sleeping Giant. And on Friday......that Giant hopefully walks into Struthers Ohio and puts your slim playoff hopes to bed.....where they belong, .

In all sports, trash talk can make the games more exciting, but when taken to far, it just gets out of hand. People are no longer talking about the game that is about to take place but would rather dedicate posts and facebooks degrading the other city. If you want respect for your city you wouldn't have an entire facebook trying to start drama with the other city. It's sad more or less pathetic that the people doing this as stated before probably have never played a down and there life and have to do it from behind a keyboard. Regardless, this friday im hoping to see a war and we are going to find out who can do the walking, not just the talking.

And again to Big Dean and Pride well said .. I might be a first year chatter but I'm 37 years old. I know the rivalry i lived it from the time i understood it. I was at all there games from 82 when my brother played. The biggest game i have ever seen was the struthers campbell game in 91,, i remember the coach putting the first string back in after we thought we had the game..

Wildcat pride that page is for us campbell fans. there is nothing there that is provoking and nothing out of the ordinary for a rivalry game. that page has been up for some time now not just for the stuthers game..

Not provoking or out of the ordinary and yet you have individual high school kids names from struthers all over it. Regardless of what things he may have said, hes still a kid. Talk is cheap, on both sides.
