I live in Uniontown and my kids go to Lake. I would love to see you guys play in the regular season instead of scrimmage. I think that would be a great game for both teams. You guys would get the points for beating a D2 team when you win. Also, most of Lake's schedule is D1 teams, so there are a ton of 2nd level points available. If Lake wins, you offer a ton of Level 2 points to them. Maybe they get a little less 1st level points, but if Lake is good, then points are not really an issue due to the toughness of their schedule.

I just know that they would require it to be home and home.

That actually happened this year at Massillon. They did not send us nearly as many seats as we requested. At a boosters club meeting, Reno said something about not playing there again unless they give us a better seating arrangement.

But even in Massillon we had a whole endzone to utilize.

icskins' example was 500 total seats and no sitting on the "home side". I guess the closest example of that is when we went to Watterson, but I'm pretty sure the visitor side there was more than 500....and we did, after a big brew-ha-ha, have people sitting on the "home side".

I wouldn't expect any team to come to Steubenville that we told you could have 500 seats max and can't sit anywhere else.

Does the visitor side at Harding have reserved seating from the 40-40 for Big Red? I remember this in 06 and wondered if is still that way.

It's not "reserved" per se, but it is saved for the teachers during normal games. They give it to the visitors though if it warrants it.

Maybe I was being silly in my example. 500 is kind of low. I know you guys travel well and that is great. That is what having a winning, positive program for so many years does.

My point was that travelling is not supposed to have all the comforts of home.

I tried to sit there and was asked to leave. So I would consider them "reserved". It was not like those sections were full for that game.

They are not reserved in the sense that people have a ticket with the seat number on it, but like I said, they are reserved for the teachers of Steubenville City Schools.

Edison didn't bring enough fans to warrant moving the teachers.

You're joking right? "They give it to the visiters though if it warrants". When has this ever happened? In all my years of going to Big Red regular season games they have NEVER,NEVER,NEVER opened that up to the visiting crowd.

Massillon just last year.

If the visiting school sells out section Q and R, then they will move the teachers, but very few schools sell that many tickets.

Why doesn't the teachers sit on the home side with their own anyway? They think they are too good to be rubbing elbows with other Big Red faithful or what?

Many years Massillon has as many home games as we do, and up until two or three years ago Catholic Central had as many, if not more, home games as we did.

The common thread there is that teams that are independent are able to have more home games. Mooney only had two away games this year....Ursuline had three....WGH had 3 (but they are joining a league, so that will change).

Because the good seats on the home side are all taken up by season ticket holders, so they reward the teachers by giving them those seats on the visitor side.

Massillon was given the entire visitor's section last year. I believe that I.C. was also given the entire visitor's side last year. Teachers and special guests are moved as the crowd warrants ala advanced ticket sales. Also, there are seats available on the home side if and up until the game becomes a sellout (rarely ).

Any team in Ohio can't just schedule all their games at home. Most of the teams are in conferences that have scheduling.

Well, I guess they could if they worked out deals and played all road games the next year, but that is a different situation entirely.

Reno told us that he wants eight home games from now on. When I pointed out to him that we have contracts to play at Brooke, Park, and Ursuline next year, he nearly took my head off. If I understood him correctly (and maybe I didn't), he suggested that we won't play all three of those three games. At another boosters meeting, he asked if we should keep Park. When I told him to drop Park, he again took my head off and started screaming, "WHO ARE WE GOING TO PLAY???" I suggested an away game at Renton, Washington, where I live. I don't know what he said to that, because he mumbled his response under his breath. At any rate, I think he's glad I'm back in Seattle.

Who's fault is that???

That's the same reasoning as these schools around here who bitch and moan about Open Enrollment, despite the fact that EVERY school in Jefferson County has Statewide Open Enrollment.

Park has already dropped us for next year.

How the heck is that even close to the same argument? Those are 2 entirely different things.

Whose fault is it? I don't know. It sure isn't mine. I don't mind the conferences though. They obviously help with the scheduling. Also, did I ever bitch about you having 8 home games? Let me help you out. No, I did not. All I said was, you can't have it both ways. You can't say that NO ONE will schedule us, and then in the next sentence say, we HAVE to have 8 home games. Maybe it's not that no one will schedule you, but that they would like to schedule you at their home also.

Maybe I am speaking out of turn here, but I remember someone saying that your booster meetings are tiny compared to what they used to be. Maybe this could be one of the reasons why.
