pretty sure . I dont think you get penalized any points for playing out of state foes . Like the OVAC penalizes us for playing out of confrence foes.

Very good question icskins & well stated.

Thanks. It took me a while to try and phrase it properly so that I wouldn't get attacked. I just thought it was really odd to only have 2 Ohio games on the schedule. I know that it is not always like this. You have a great point about the local out of state teams.

Ironically Bishop Watterson and Mooney are without teams to play this week.

...based on WHO we're playing this year over 9 weeks, I don't think we needed a 10th game, but I can guarantee that if Reno called and asked for a game this week, Don Bucci would have accepted in a heart beat!

I dont care who we play . We will meet Money and or Watterson in the playoffs Unless Marlington upsets us this year in regionals and BTW since Watterson and Mooney had bye weeks this week why didnt you play each other?

Yes, it does seem that way! Probably a Mooney Alumi. I wouldn't think OSHAA reads these boards.

The fact is,they would not let us join for just football, and the school board did not want all sports. It is too hard on the kids to travel on school nights for basketball etc.....The football team had no say in this!!!

Sounds like all the other sports will be traveling anyway with the local schools not putting Big Red on the schedule anymore.

The conference is about to make a huge change and it would've been beneficial to all involved.

Regarding the fact that Mooney and Watterson are both open this week. I believe that the St Francis game was iffy between weeks 5 & 6 and landed on week 6, so Mooney wasn't sure which week would be open until late. With the schedule the way it is, they just decided that no matter when it falls, they would keep this other week open

Mooney and Watterson have played in week 10 for 6 years now I believe. Watterson chose not to renew, and Mooney picked up Moeller for 1 year in Youngstown You'll have to Watterson why they didn't renew

Mooney is currently advertising for week 10 next year

There needs to be a 7-11 league formed with different tiers running from Ferry to Ytown. Maybe even get 7-11 to sponsor it.

You don't know much about High School football do you? I'm sure someone from YCM will be more than happy to inform you of who he is.

If you were a football star in your hometown you are not famous nor should I be expected to know who you are. If you go on and accomplish something then ill probably know who you are.

Don Bucci is a "football star" and is known throughout the state of Ohio, not just in Youngstown; with his legacy I'd be willing to say his name is known throughout the country as well!
