I have a question in regards to your schedule. I know that I will be beaten up and attacked for even asking. I am really curious though as to the Big Red fans thoughts. I really didn't pay much attention and just pulled your schedule up. You play only 2 teams from Ohio. I know that your schedule is done in a way to generate the maximum number of points. I understand all of that. I am not questioning the toughness of the schedule either. I am just curious as to how you guys/gals feel about playing mostly out of state teams. You have more WVa schools than Ohio schools.

Is there another school in the state that has a similar schedule that anyone knows of? Again, that is a real question, not a jab at Steubenville.

Thanks to anyone that answers.

Big Red's schedule is driven by two things: computer points and money. Trust me, this year's schedule will give us plenty of both.

Well not a jab at IC but you guys bailed out on us on the last year of the contract so we had to get Inkster again this year. East Liverpool another local Ohio team recently dropped us so that is one more . Edison and Buckeye are in that Buckeye 8 with you guys so I dont think it leavs much room for those teams and we already had home and home games with them but no more . Myself personnally I enjoy our schedule and all the out of state talent I get to see . Its fun . Inkster last year . Woodland Hills , Mckeesport this collegiate DC team loaded with D-1 talent . Not DC garbage a real good private school . I am not going to get on here and bash the locals for not playing us but at the same time I am not going to worry so much for all the out of state teams we do play . We are on the boarder of Ohio with WVA and 10 minutes from PA . Not very many teams in Ohio have our unique situation.

Any of the valley teams that play Big Red are asking to get it handed to them. Im a Creek fan and admit its a given lose every year. Steubenvilles program is superior to anyone in the valley. It is, what it is.

You made some very good points. Thank You. I did forget, for some reason, that they did have some teams recently back out or not renew contracts. I guess that when I saw the schedule it just seemed really odd to me that there were so many out of state teams.

I understand this. I wasn't saying that they should or shouldn't schedule anyone in particular. I was just asking about playing more Ohio schools in general.

Thick, No disrespect but EL would've gladly played Big Red, but I think Reno wanted Brooke in week 3 shooing us away.... As soon as we recover from the disarray our program has been in we'll be back....

Here is my point. I have worked in many inner city areas and a trip to Steubenville can give alot to these programs. I may be wrong, but the amount of income the Steubenville fans bring is so far from the norm.

Big Red has enough season ticket holders and fans at each home game to make money no matter what the other team brings.

Do I have to list all the Ohio teams that we have played recently and have dropped us? I will if needed.

Very nice crowd. Ever hear of the competitive spirit that some teams have ? Look on our website and they will show you the complex that DC team has . Very nice but stadium probably holds as much as 1,000. that team plays very good catholic schools in the Maryland and DC area and they play Good Council yearly who was in the USA top 10 .. Id say they made some money sure . You need to be more informed . Or you need not to be so negitive.

- How exactly does the point system work when it comes to out of state schools? Since PA has A AA and AAA do they just base the school you play according to the ohio divisions (Boys enrolled) and what about the secondary points you get from them?

Also Under Armour founder Kevin Plank is an alumni and has donated a large amount of money to the program. This is a well off school. They didn't NEED our money. Those of you thinking this was some CITY team Thinthickbigred is right you need to be better informed.

I'll say that some of the OVAC schools that sign a contract every now and again, then back out or don't reschedule us for whatever reason, needs the money just as bad as some of the CITY teams they are speaking of. I don't know how many school systems are operating in the BLACK as Steubenville does in Jefferson County.
