how is playing an easy schedule and missing the playoffs all but one year in his coaching history at creek a good coach? I don't care how many times you go 9-1 if you can't win the one game you schedule thats hard your not a good coach. Any of us could have coached those teams to 9-1 with the schedule he played. If he had played good teams even if he finished 7-3 he could have made the playoffs because when Sam was there Creek had more talent on its team than we ever had since. Creek could of had a state title some time in the 90s but it was thrown away because of the schedule.

Also I love how all you guys love a guy that got FIRED FOR ABUSING HIS PLAYERS.

Anyone remeber Cooper from Ohio State? He couldn't win the big game and look what happened to him, same thing with Sam. Doesn't matter how many games you win it matters that you win the big ones. I remeber looking at Sams schedule and wondering where half those schools came from every year. Schools with armed gaurds, schools with 3 fans and schools that were D1 but with 12 kids on the team were Sams favorite teams to play. Ya a real prideful coach.

Nothing against COACH Sam (i liked the guy) but honestly he wasnt a big game coach. In the 1996 season, last game of season was against EL at home (redskins.com has it wrong with away) and after the game was supposed to be a victory party in the GYM for the perfect 10 - 0 season. The party was rumored all week and then comfirmed at the Thursday night pep rally. ...... Then friday came and the moment got to big , the after game party was cancelled just a few hours before game time, He changed everything (football game plan), as if he already knew the game was over. The words like "we are throwing everytihng at them , even the kitchen sink" (yet similar to the previous year 1995 against CCHS). What happened to keep it simple?
YES THIS STORY IS TRUE AND A FACT

Let me try this again.

Mr. MANAZE, no matter what anyone else says, you will come back with something different. Coach Sam has been a good coach everywhere he has been. At no time did I specify his time only at IC. Now, with that being said, you have done nothing but put down everything about from IC. You have put down all of our teams, the coaches, the education, the buildings, and everything associated with that school. I hope you will be kind enough to answer a question for me. You say that you have kids in the district, why would you keep them there if you hate everything about it so much? Why would you only switch them if they want to play football? I hope this post is up to your standards and I don't get reported for this one.

Maybe when you were supporting Russia Sam hit you with a chair so your memory is a little confused. What has Sam ever won? Does he have a state title? Does he have any playoff wins?

Why keep my kids at a IC school right now? Because the one they go to right now has great teachers. I don't hate Creek. I spent a lot of time in the halls of Creek and have a lot of great memories about that school, however when they keep repeating the losing forumla it gets frustrating. Ask the teachers at Creek and most of them agree with me how Creek has made up jobs and has a perfect forumla for wasting money.

How many coaches haven't won a State title? I think the list is longer than those that have. It is comments like that which bother people. If you don't like the man then fine, but to say that hit me with a chair just because I think more highly of him than you do is irritating. In your opinion, has IC had a good coach since they formed? If you could hire someone right now, who would it be? Someone that we would actually have a chance at getting I mean. I don't know. I am not in the area anymore to know all the ins and outs. It just bothers me when the kids are put down. I have a nephew that graduated last year and played all through school. I have another that is a freshman this year and also plays. It gets to me when they are put down as being "losers". Thanks for answering my question about your kids. I really was curious.

You really didn't answer the question of how many playoff wins Sam has.

And incase you didn't know that is what caused Sam to get fired from a coaching job, he hit a player with a chair.

Also if it sounded like I called the players loser I'm sorry about that because I know how much hard work they put in. Creek has had and probally still has great athletes and it is because of their surrounding wich causes them to lose. I never want to put down the kids, but they can't help what they are in. Year in and year out Creek has not supported the players the way they should.

When I was there we had a coach that would take the letters that colleges sent students and threw them away because he didn't want his players getting "big-headed".

When were you there? When my younger brother was there the head coach told him he would only help with recruiting if it was 1 particular college otherwise he was on his own. He didn't want to go to that college and the head coach benched him for a game his senior season. He was being recruited by Toledo at the time. After the benching they quit calling. He ended up going to a DIII school.

I don't know the answer. None I guess.

Yeah, he is 2 1/2 years younger than me. He played offensive tackle. I can't say little brother. He gets mad about that and he was always bigger.

That is just not fair. He is about 2 inches taller and when he grad. he had me by about 125 pounds. I wish I could say it was all fat, but it wasn't. He got some payback on me and my older brother.

Snyds,

I think my older brother was the same year as your older brother or the year before. 1987. My younger brother was 1994. He was a freshman when we grad.

Creek is going to State. They are going to be ran by the state that is. Go Creek go, all the way to having all of your athletics cut, extra activities gone, and sos will be out of a job cheering for the creek. But no worries sos I heard Toronto is looking for one new fan.
