We'll see this year if Connors is the real deal or not. There is no reason not to have a playoff run. If he does not have a better record than 7-3 than its time to seek out a new coach.

I know for some people it is tough to give him another year or two to get things consistent. I agree that we should make an spot in the playoffs this year, however a 7-3 or 8-2 record just may do it and it is still an improvement from last year as long as the team keeps headed down the right path. I would like to see a record no worse than 8-2, but like I mentioned before... As long as the team continues to move in the right direction, I will remain onboard for a while. I whole-heartedly trust that Connor and his staff will continue to move this team in the right direction. I know that there are coaches out there with bigger reputations and high win %, but this guy and his staff are the right ones for the job. Should be an interesting year followed by many more to come.

This is what I think will happen. If Connors fails to go at least 7-3 no matter how many players have the "flu" it won't matter. It'll be time for a change. If this is the year for a playoff run as it is spoken by the blind fans than if it falls short of that time to say goodbye.

If Creek makes the playoffs in 2010, they won't make a run. They will go one and done just like the other three teams from Buckeye 8 in 2009. Creek could never get by Big Red or Dover.

With the way the program has turned after last year, a 5-5 season would be unacceptable. I would have to believe that 6-4 is also unacceptable. I think that the coaches as well as players are well aware of what is expected of them in 2010. Like I said, the goal right now is to have an exceptional off season with focus on strength, conditioning, speed, and mature as better football players. When the season starts, take it one game at a time. Look at every game as if it were a play-off game and will end the season. We are going to be ok... I just hope that the team takes extra precautions this year when the flu does hit the school. We can't afford to be at 65-70% when we hit the meat of the schedule...

^^^^ seriously stop with the flu talk, ever team deals with it. The flu is like an injury, when it comes to kids missing games. Thats why you work on 2nd & 3rd team to be ready for these kinda things. BR had both last year & made it to the state semi-finals. So either kids step up and coaches coach them or seemingly you just make excuses.

Well I forgot that Big Red is the best high school football team on earth, sorry... Give back all your transfers and see how far you get. All I was saying is that IF we can stay away from that bug this year, that would be great... It it us in the meat of our schedule and didn't do us any favors. Would like to be healthy all year this year that way we can see where the team stands.d.woods50fan. wrote: ^^^^ seriously stop with the flu talk, ever team deals with it. And if you ask any of them why, it wasn't for a scholarship... It was because the principal at the other school was a weirdo.

it had nothing to do with the principal it was they weren't getting playing time at Big Red and thought they'd be all stars at creek.

No one said BR is the best, it was just an Example. We have been over this before THEY HAVE A STATE TITLE BEFORE OPEN ENROLLMENT !!! Dont be mad because no one transfers to creek to get the flu !!!sonofsam wrote:Well I forgot that Big Red is the best high school football team on earth, sorry... SOS if D4 St Clairsville (6-4), D4 Martins Ferry (8-2), D3 Harrison Central (8-2) are the "meat" of ICs Schedule than they want no part of the Playoffs.

The B8 schedule can get you to the playoffs.
It will not prepare you for the playoffs all that well. I've said that for about 4 years now. It's not putting down any of the schools involved, it just is what it is.
ESPECIALLY when it comes time for regional finals and then semi-finals.
The B8 is good for convenience and gas money.

Mayo, None of them were from Big Red.
That was before open enrollment and they were all from central and either lived in Mingo or Wintersville.
