This isn't the NFL. It's not ALL about winning. Winning isn't the ONLY thing you learn from playing football. These are very impressionable young kids..not athletes that make millions of dollars to play a game. If you got a coach that is showing a turnaround and instilling good morals and ethics into the kids..then that's a coach you want to have around. Would you want a coach like that or a coach that would tell one of his players to take out the QB's knee just so he can get a win? Well..nevermind. I already know what your answer will be.MANAZE wrote: Ya it is. Why do you love this school so much? What has it done for you? You act like it really is a good place to when it is not. They continue to waste money and waste students. Creek will never change as long as there are people like you not wanting to change for the better but yet stick with coaches that will not make our students better! I don't care what his ethics are, its about winning football games. We let the good coaches and teachers go only to replace them with "buddies". Creek is close to becoming ran by the State and I can not wait for that day to happen.

NAZE to answer your question, I felt at home at Creek. I attended Public school in K-1st grade, Catholic School 2-8th grade, then Creek 9-12th grade. I knew a total of 4 people that went to Creek when I first got there. I met a lot of good friends, A fellow teammate of mine has been as close to me as a brother since High School. His kids even call me uncle and his family is like a second family to me. School is what you make of it, the teachers at IC were some of the hardest working people I have ever met. Any of them would have stayed hours after school to help you. During football, I met a lot of coaches who I still talk to today. Back then they seemed like they picked on you, but now you can see that they were actually pushing to make you a better person on and off the field. Then there was Coach Sam... The only other guy I have ever met that was as strict as my dad. Loved the game of football and loved his players even if you were on the bad side of an ass-chewing. Used to go visit him long after H.S. when I went to my Grandmothers because he lived a few houses up from her... A lot of respect for that guy, a lot of people didn't like him, but they never took the time to know him and understand him.
I look back at High School and some names pop out... People that made an impact on me. Coach Dunlevy was my Algebra teacher... made things so simple that it was my favorite class. Ms. Hocking was so hard on me in chemistry because it was my worst subject... She spent many hours she didn't have to helping me in that subject. Mr. Minor was one of the most interesting teachers when it came to history... It almost felt like you were a part of Early America. Even down to my shop teacher Mr. Dellalo, every time I start up a table saw I remember his speech about cutting your fingers off and think about that damn "poosh stick" as he called it. That was over 12 years ago and still to this day when I see those people they stop and ask how things are. There are many more teachers and coaches I could go on for hours... Its what you do while your there and how you take advantage of oppertunity. There is only one other place on this earth that feels like home besides my home itself, and thats when I sit down in section D row W seat 18.

Ughh!!!
Manaze,
It is exactly people and parents like YOU that have had the worst effect on Bellaire School Athletics. And look what has happened to our football team the past 3 years. It's because of people/parents like you.
Oh and Bellaire Schools ARE being taken over by the state right now.
Because of people and parents like you.
Parents don't like the coach - take their kids to another school
Parents don't like the system - take their kids to another school
Parents who have kids who don't get to start - take their kids to another school
Parents who don't like certain teachers - take their kids to another school
Parents coveting other schools sports achievments - take their kids to another school
Parents who don't like the school's location - take their kids to another school
And so on and so on.
=
Too many teachers per number of students
Haven't won 5 football games in 3 years
Being taken over by the state
Tradition ruined
Pride in tatters
Achievment unrecognized
Money lost
Ties that bind cut in half.
Be careful what you wish for...

I would love to see Creek taken over by the state. Then if it is still around in ten years just maybe it will have finally turn the right direction with all the trash taken out. I agree there are a lot of good people at Creek but yet there are so many wrong things that have happend and no one is ever held accountable.

Why would ANYONE wish for a school to be taken over by the state??? That is the ABSOLUTE most IGNORANT thing you could ever say about a school. Its really a good thing that you hide behind that screen name because there are a LOT of people that would like to have a little chat with you...

I'm right here chat away internet tough guy. Also I say the same in person as I do on here. Show me the facts that Creek really doesn't deserve to be taken over. It is time for heads to be pulled out of butts and start focusing on the true important things and football is not one of them.

Your story was sooo heart warming that i cant compare a tale soo oscar worthy. It could even do better than the blind side !!! I find it really funny how someone that always puts BR down for transfers espically those that come in for 9-12, was a TRANSFER himselfsonofsam wrote: Internet tough guy? I didn't like the catholic school atmosphere. Never did. It was a decision my mom made when I was 6, not mine... Big Red wasn't even a consideration, Both sisters Graduated from Wintersville and I was never a Big Red fan. Sorry.d.woods50fan. wrote: Your story was sooo heart warming that i cant compare a tale soo oscar worthy. It could even do better than the blind side !!! (cant use the R word)

answering the question with another question. sos I think the real problem is you never forgave that priest and that is why you love Creek so much.
I was football, track, key club for ICHS in the summers I belong to the Steuben Striders. I spent a good bit of hours doing work every month for one thing or another. Events like Relay for Life and going down to the Urban Mission.
