Your right, games "could" have gone either way... Big Red "might" have won if Inkster made a mistake... Big Red "might" have won if Braylon Heard was sick. Its all excuses. I was at all but one IC game this year... I follow the program very close. What you are NOT understanding is that we DO WANT TO WIN... You guys are not understanding the things Coach Connor has done this year. He put his neck on the line to get this program going back up instead of down. When he took this team back, the board could have fired him the same way they did Sam... I'm sure he will be the first to tell you that he isn't the nations top High School coach, I'm sure he will tell you that he is pleased with what his coaches and his players have accomplished this year... But what he WON'T tell you is excuses... He leaves that for everyone else to discuss and talk about what a horrible coach he is because his record isn't perfect. Personally I don't care what you think about him, I don't care what you think of our program, I simply don't care... I pay attention to things that happen. #1 He took control of the team, #2 he loves his players like his own kids, #3 he got them to buy into his system, #4 he conditioned them better than any Creek team has been in the last decade, #5 He got rid of the bad apples, #6 He got the players to stop quitting, #7 the players believe in the team and thier coaches...

What more do you want? We are NOT an Ohio powerhouse... We needed to find ourselves as a team before we can push forward... That happened this year. Now its time to start focusing on goals and setting them higher each year.

I don't care what anyone says about Coach Connor and his staff, they are the right guys for the job... The pieces will come together soon enough.
Just want to know why everyone loves to jump on BIG RED when they lose to teams with MAJOR D1 talent? When any other OVAC team schedules a team with MAJOR D1 talent or makes it that far, PLEASE let me know !!! Let me just try this: D. Clark: Penn ST, D. Torrence: Ohio St., A. Benn: Illinois, D. Ifft : Ball St, Storm Cline: Ohio St, M. Shaw: Michigan, D. Gardner: Michigan, N. Roosevelt: Buffalo, C. Borland: Wisconsin,A. Hoppel: D. Wolfe: Cincinnati, J. Adams: Michigan St, K. Lattimore (Ray Lewis brother): Maryland, 2007-2009 Mooney recuits, 2009 Woodland Hills recuits JUST TO NAME A FEW ...Now lets try the Buckeye 8: E.G.C.C
Nobody cares... Really. Ask Mooney if they care. Their schedule made yours look fake... The same way they made you look on the football field. Let just see how good Big Red does in '10 shall we? Bet the schedule drastically changes for '11. Oh, I forgot I am not allowed to talk about Big Red because I am jealous... Go Creek!!!

I am talking about the president and a couple of the other ones on the board who don't have a clue but only use the position to help advance family and close friends. This district is in shambles and they are to blame but they still find time to interfere with the sports programs.

I also want to know this:

Tell me why Creek is going to build a new Jr.High when there is NOTHING wrong with the current one, but when the current HIGH SCHOOL is a TRAILER PARK! They just keep adding trailers. Shows how smart Creek is.

If Mooneys schedule makes BIG REDS schedule look fake then what does that say about CREEK? I'll make a bold prediction about 2010 right now, BIG RED will ATLEAST be in the state semi finals AGAIN and Creek will be watching AGAIN .... Take that to the bank !!!

My question is how does one know if all the blame should go on Coach Conner and his staff. I saw tham play alot of games over the past six years and I think alot of Creek fans have gotten caught up in how much talent they have. I have seen alot of these kids grow up and they are great kids but I don't know how much talent they have. You know the records of the past six years are 7-3 6-4 5-5 5-5 2-8 and 6-4. Some of the posters might not think that is where it supposed to be but based on what. I also see Big Red Games and I don't think there were too many kids who would have played there and yet the comparisons are always to Big Red. Big Red is a machine, great coaches but also great football players.
Some of the criticism of Coach Conner is probably right, but alot of coaches have faults. Manaze just seems bitter and Home field I am betting you are the parent of or player that could not get in done. I think the man proved alot this year because he took the blame for the 2-8 and went about trying to fix it. Go on Joe Eitel and see how many teams had losing records the year before and still had a losing record this year. I want Home Field to know that I know the coaches and like them. I went to the UL game and there management of the clock was excellent. All of you who are so anti board go get a petition have your 8000 friends sign it and grow some ( you know what) and run. It is so easy to never put yourself in a public spot and then want to sit on the sidelines( manaze and hometurf) and criticize. You don't know the coaches( other than you Mr. Football parent or could not get in the game Home Turfie) You probably win alot of exbox games and watch espn so now you are football experts. I for one think if you went to games last year and than game this year you could see a drastic difference in disicipline, conditioning and attitude. Maybe, just maybe, everyone did their best which was a 6-4 season. The rain game has nothing to do with Coach Conner. Unlike you big time businessmen, he has superiors that make decisions. He does what his superiors tell him like I must do at my place of work. I guess you guys can do what you want at work( or maybe you guys are smart enough not to have to go to work.) Again I would like to thank the 2009 team for playing with alot of pride and hope the 2010 team the best of luck. I can't wait for the reponses that I support a bad staff or support a terrible school board, I make no bones about it I do and hope they continue to do well and have a Merry Christmas. For the Haters, I hope Santa brings you more expertise, more insightful dialogue, more answers to questions that are perplexing to society, and a liitle dash of more of bitterness. Continue you wise banter and bash, bash, bash. Remember, put out the cookies and milk.

Well your screen name explains why you are so supportive of the coach and the mingo school board but how many other coaches with his record over the years would still have a job at the same school? You seem to think you know everything about me but you know nothing.I also know the coach and think he is a wonderful person and would do anything for the kids but i just don't think he is head coach material.I don't have any boys in the high school but i do follow the program and attend games.I do like how anybody that disagrees with this program and voices their opinion is either a pissed off parent or some guy that did not get enough playing time when they were in school.I am neither and i did play and also played in college but i am sure you went to a division 1 school and was a all american so i will concede to you since i only went to a d3 school.

I think Mingo Chiefs post hit some pretty good points as well as others who have posted on this topic. I went on Joe Eitel and saw that there was 59 Division 3 schools with losing records last year. Counting ICHS only 15 had winning seasons this year. I think that is a pretty good step. I never played football so I am no way an expert. I think it must be hard to coach football because you must coach whatever kids come out. I to wonder how one tells if there is enough talent to win. I read some posts who believe ICHS has under achieved and I wonder if it is true or not. I would imagine if you like a coach, you would feel he is doing the best with what he has, if you dislike the coach he is the under achiever. I would think that it would be impossible for either side to win the arguement. You can't compare teams because they do not all have the same talent. The question I have and it might be stupid is how does one know if the coach is performing poorly or the team is or I guess even both are performing poorly. How does one know if there is kids who would help the team in school are not playing, other than the I heard there is. How many people know exactly what the staff is doing, and do they do the same things other staff's do that are successful. I really think this debate has gone as far is it can go. Some what coach conners and others don't. The only thing it seems is agreed upon is that he seems to be a good person and for what I know I too would agree on this. I hope for him and the team that they will be successful this year. I still think that it was a successful season based on what I saw on Joe eitel's website. I agree that ICHS has to improve and by no means are a great program but I do not think it as bad as some would have it. Still I have a hard time figuring out high school football because there are so many intangibles that could go against a team, a coach or a staff. I heard that this year's staff was better and that to might make a better head coach. I would think you must know a little as a Head Coach to win after playing so poorly last year. I can only hope that when people criticize that they do not make it personal but I do agree that everyone has the right to be critical of those who do this for a living, they knew it came with the job. I just hope the motives for the criticism is based on the person opinion because they want to make the program better and not because they feel that the program was responsible for there lack of personal success. I am sure that Head Coaches in every program have those who don't like them and think they are bums. I think they must have think skin, work hard and hope that they are good enough to avoid the old pink slip. I do like the back and forth but I again believe that neither side will convince the other they are right. I think now I am leaning with the pro-side and think this year was successful to a point. I could easily go the other way with a bad season which I hope does not happen. I am interested in the Board of Education and who is not doing there job, might make me make a better decision when I vote. I would also like to add for the Big Red posters who feel it necesary to always intervene in everyone else's business, you have a tremendous program that speaks for itself, I will never understand why you always so negative of everyone else's program. I think this is why people take shots at Big Red and that is a shame because your teams work very hard.

d woods,

not jealous ONE bit... Happy where I am and would never want to back anyone else... And I will mention whoever I want to, especially the fakes to the east... Put Inkster back on the schedule along with Mooney, DeSales, Watterson, Massillon, WGH, and why don't you schedule a real out of state team? Better yet, just mimic Mooney's schedule and try that this year... Lets see how you do. Talk all you want, but don't say much until you can put your money where your mouth is. Sure, Creek isn't where Big Red is, but you guys can handle it right??? I mean Big Red is the greatest show in H.S. football so why not? Try Mooney's schedule to adjust to your talent level and then see what happens... L after L after L.

I would like to say that I think Coach Connor is someone who has done alot for the kids of this district. My Dad told me about this site and I wanted to say Thanks to all the coaches. I think Coach Kuz, Coach Kessel, Coach B., Coach D., Coach Hammack, Coach Kell, Coach Vandy, Coach Lucas, and Coach Duncan do a great job. I also feel Coach Connor has done a bunch of great things for the program that has made it more of a program. I know he hasn't won as much as everyone has wanted(including himself) but he is a standup guy who takes responsibility for all that goes wrong(not always his fault).
The staff knows football and prepares the players with X'S and O's and prepares them for life. Hard to ask for more. I think people just like to complain. I hope that he and all the coaches, new ones I have heard about too, continue to know that people appreciate what they do and how dedicated they are to Indian Creek. Give them hell in the weight room in the offseason and give them the Dirty Dozen (loved that).

You might want to check your facts!
Connors 2003-present 26-34 record found on redskinchop.com

Edison,Toronto,CCHS all getting new coaches
Buckeye getting new coach but not because of record.

I am done arguing with you and hope creek turns things around as a school district before it is taken over by the state because then you won't have to worry about football anymore because they will eliminate the sports and then what will you do?When that happens you will see every athlete in the district leave and attend the other schools and then they can just shut the doors.

sos I just want to know if you know sam? cause if you do I don't know why you would be a creek fan and have that name. He wasn't that good of a coach for ICHS. He played an easier schedule every year with one maybe hard team and went 9-1. Made the playoffs one year and got destroyed in the first round.

Also before you comment about anything about Sam, this is the coach that had his o-line and USA Today or some other nat'l magazine because of how big his o-line was.

Yes I know Sam, he was my coach... Hence the name. Your right, Sam was a horrible coach. he was so horrible that over the course of his career he won some big games, defeated a state champion Brooke team, gave Reno his first coaching job, and was fired because he didn't play by other people's rules. Yep, he was so horrible. You honestly don't know a thing about IC or its coaches do you? You are here to start trouble only and thats it. I am not going to explain what Sam did while he was here again... I will leave that to you to read through the post and possibly educate yourself before making such stupid posts. There was a method to Sam's Madness.

A real out of state team?
So you're saying we don't play any good teams!
Lol, your hate becomes more appearant every post!
That says alot about how much Creek sucks since that's an automatic win for us!

I don't know who you think Mooney played in 09 that we wouldn't beat but you are sadly mistaken!
Just be happy with your pathetic school when they go 4-6 next year!

Why does Big Red have to play anyone but the teams that their AD schedules??? To impress some clowns from around the Ohio Valley??? The schedule is fine and when anyone else from around here starts winning some playoff games then maybe they can talk....

Until then, just keep making yourself look like a jealous, ignorant, crybaby.....and we'll all keep laughing at you.:D

I don't know what big games he won before he coached Creek but I know he got fired for abusing his kids when it was either wintersville or mingo and he was re-hired because that school was no longer around and screwed Herrick out of a job. A method? Wasn't this the coach that went 10-0 and missed the playoffs!? Wasn't this the coach that would work horse a player from 20-20 only to put in his "special" players in to score!? Sam might have been a good coach if he wouldn't have been affraid to play real teams in the regular season. Big Red owns this Creek and thats ok, but Central and Liverpool owned us in the 90s and that wasn't ok because we were better than them!
