It's more than Mike Clark was paying to run his but less than Bucknuts pays to run JJHuddle.

So, in between $0 and probably a few hundred, I would imagine.

Who would write your high school articles, and where would you get your content?

How about college interns in journalism? :)

I have no clue, which is why I haven't really planned for high school articles at the moment.

Example: you say you want a girl. Nothing specific, just a girl. I bring you a 300 pounder. You say "hell no!" Well, NO 300 pounder is a "specific" isn't it?

Nothin' wrong with a 300 pounder!! :D

My opinions for what they are worth:

Limited the back and forth arguing. I don't care to watch to internet retards argue over some moot point.

Name calling is crazy, if your response to an argument is "you're a fucking idiot" take it somewhere else.

Swearing is fucking cool with me. Unless you ban it all you just have to deal with that fucking shit.

HS forums should have a zero tolerance policy for language/attacks. No one gets singled out. Feel free to discuss but don't name individual players.

Come here have fun in an adult manner. If you are not mature enough to have an adult conversation, find another place to discuss your issues.

I believe Yahoo has a swear filter for all their users. You can either turn it on or off. If its on swear words appear as *****. If its off, obviously the swear words appear as it is. Not sure if this forum has that type of technology, however if it does, that could be an option for the people who are not fans of the swearing.

Yeah, this is something that I've been looking into for a while. Currently there isn't anything out there for this software, but it is something that I can likely build on my own.

It'll be a separate site in the same way that the golf outing site is separate. I.e. same domain but different software running it. It would be a "read-only" section, other than those granted permission to create "content." And no, the content wouldn't necessarily be poorly written articles, but if it did include those there would be no cost involved. :)

Please tell me this will be in ADDITION to the regular one that we can post on. That we can still post on the HS Football forum.

Huh? They had a site wide swear filter that was put into effect for everyone. That's not what I am looking to do.

Nice conspiracy theory, though.

Yeah, but what if you make the filter "^(&)(&_)&*)^&*(%" for every letter of any swear word? And include things like "goshdarnit" as swear words? Then, the conspiracy theory becomes more viable, doesn't it!?!??

Obviously paying greater attention to the high school aspect.

I'd love to talk about high school sports here, but unfortunately our area/conference has a weak following here as there is already a dedicated forum for our region.

I also think "trolling" HAS to be moderated a bit better. We obviously all know when we're joking with one another, but when you make a Browns thread and a guy like Capone comes in and spouts off the same crap time after time, then enough should be enough.

There should be a rule that a certain percentage of your posts have to be quality posts LOL.

Seriously though, trolling is probably the biggest weakness right now. A few people that I know of have completely left the site due to trolls.

lots of good ideas..........I personaly get turned off by seeing f-bombs ect. in print, I know the trolls love using garbage language, x them out or something, I know that would help.

I think the best way to get rid of swearing is a user preference filter. Not sure if that's even possible.

Yeah.....maye instead of the moderators focusing on topcis and threads...maybe spend more time focusing on abusers of crap. Everyone on here can give useful comments, opinions, info etc......but 5 or 6 crapheads sure make it rough. It can easliy be argued that I am a certified loser....but some of these people that continue to beat dead horses......whew.

I like to think everyone brings something to the table. Capone and some others don't. I'm trying to harass society to the point that it leaves. So far so good.

Keep up the good work!

I don't know, like I said before, most of the posters that came over here were the "fun" guys and that takes away a little bit from the HS sports stuff, however most of our HS sports guys came over here and our thread is doing good. Maybe....just put out some "stickies" to say watch the language? It's a real pickle, but, ya know what?...it's working out, IMO.

How about giving the trolls a scarlet "T" underneath their moniker?

I've actually contemplated something similar. There is an "awards" mod for the software that allows you to give people awards that show up under their name. I was going to institute a troll award, but also have some positive awards as well.

I don't know, it's better to just not acknowledge trolls' existence as opposed to branding or crediting them for their contributions. I think we all know who they are (and it will take new people a whole 15 minutes of browsing to figure it out).
