I respect your opinion, but all I ever heard from the Republicans in Congress is "no" and "we need to extend the Bush tax cuts". I need more than that in order to base an opinion.


By the way, since Obama was elected my IRA has recovered more than it lost during the fall of 2008, my taxes have gone down and I am enjoying life like never before. Now I'm not dumb enough to believe that BHO is responsible for any of this, but I have to wonder if any of this would have happened if McCain had won the election.

I'm in agreement with you in the fact that I just can't take one topic or only a portion of a topic in order gather any real good opinion about it.

About McCain- I voted for him, but I don't speculate on what he would or wouldn't have done, or what it would be like. It's not a reality anyway, and doesn't matter. If I'm gonna daydream, it's not going to be about McCain LOL!

I believe that daydreaming about John is one topic we can both agree on.

Maybe, but I view this much more as the first salvo from nationalized health care taxing poor health practices. I'm pretty sure this won't be the last. Expect higher taxes on certain kinds of foods, smokers (in addition to the already high tax on tobacco), overall fitness (like getting a tax credit if a doctor gives you a clean bill of health), etc...When the costs of this program begin spiraling out of control they will seek additional revenues.

This needs to be rectified soon because with as bad as the economy is if Republicans put a decent plan out there for the public to digest it will eliminate any possibility of the Democrats keeping the House this November.

Probably because you have your head up your ass most of the time. There were Republican proposals and ideas out there, but you actually had to search to find them. Don't you think that if Boehner and his minions want to be taken seriously as a group that offers alternatives they would announce their plans on the steps of the Capitol? You even mention that you have to "search" to find them. Even the left-leaning, socialist scumbag East Coast media would cover a press conference announcing alternatives. The problem is, they never had any to announce.

In theory, that would seem prudent. The thing is though...they don't have to do that. If they weren't already being taken at least semi-seriously, they wouldn't be up by 5 points in the generic ballot. Why screw with things when it's just as easy to kick back and watch the Dems burn their own house down?

IMO the masses are simply content at this point to put the brakes on Bam's agenda, and cross the "what's your plan" bridge when the time comes.

If not, let me tell you that the federal government came as close as it ever has to balancing it's budget. Although the Slick Willie bag handlers will have us believe it produced a surplus, they forgot the theivery of the social security trust (excuse me...trust...HAHAHAHAHAHAAHA Freaking HA) fund and the subsequent, "IOU's". Nevertheless...Mr. Kasich was a major player in helping to bring budget deficits closer to balance than ever before in the previous 30 years and for you to state he would bring the economy down is to create a rectal cranium interpretation of the facts.
