WINNER!!! DING, DING, DING!!!

Of course, it is no better down in places Powhatten Point, Clarington, Hannibal, etc.
The employment rate from EL down to those places is probably less than 50%. A very large percentage of the population is on SSDI, welfare or some other government program. Most of the towns along this stretch were all once nice towns about 50 years ago, but they have not been able to keep up with the times. Jobs are gone (heck most of the jobs have been gone for a long time, it is nothing new). The best and brightest of these towns left a long time ago, leaving the elderly and the rift raft for the most part.

Marietta is a nice town though.
Dead on right here. I'm only 25 and its amazing how far downhill this place has gone in my life. As the steel industry slowed down the the place went to shit. Its quite depressing.

Anyone who is defending Steubenville is you guessed it....still in Steubenville!! It does have some nice areas, but as a whole, not a place I'd like to be.

I also find it hilarious that someone is actually comparing Cleveland to NYC. Hahahahaa wtf

Nelsonville isn't exactly anything to write home about, but the trip along Rt. 33 can't hold a candle to a trip down Rt. 7 along the river in terms of depressing sights.

I'm guessing that because of the "we own that bitch" line, he's saying Ann Arbor is under our custody and, therefore, is an Ohio city due to that ownership (which makes it, by default, the most hated place "in" Ohio).

Ohio State fans have never been known for their geography skills, or basically any skills that involve thinking now that you mention it.

Those saying Cleveland, what gives? Seriously, it's tons better than it was 10-20 years ago. The city itself(downtown) is a great place to hang out, and very clean. Helluva lot better than New York City, that place is the biggest dump of all.
Thank you! People who say Cleveland are really fucking clueless.

Top medical facilities, good food, downtown s improving and the area is getting much better.

If the politics within the city can be corrected for the better, the city has a great chance to restore it's pride as one of the better cities in America.

Toledo. Worked on the East Side for a while, depressed me everyday driving over the bridge.
Had to laugh at this...the East Side of Toledo isn't even the worst part of Toledo. Not even close. Where is EastIsBest when you need him?
I completly agree with you TBone. I have live and still live on the east side for 25years....my whole life and have never had a problem. On the other sides of town i have had my fair share of problems

The worst city in the state.
Lets not forget about all the brothers selling drugs and the sisters selling their skanky ass body on the street corners and none of them taking a shower afterwards.

You guys are fucking clueless.

Mr. 300, I'd like to see you say that to an Italian on the street in Steubenville, they'd be dragging the river for your sorry ass!
Thanks for adding even more reasons for Steubenville, douchebag. LMAO!!

Well...there are a boatload of votes for Steubenville and the surrounding areas so there's gotta be a reason for that.....cesspool.

S 7th Street???

Obviously someone who doesn't know anything about The Ville, since there isn't much on South 7th St except houses...but it's nice to see someone able to throw out two bigoted remarks in one comment...kudos to you Mr. 300!

I mean obviously everyone's entitled to their own opinion...I lived closer to Sylvania for a couple of years, then moved onto Jackman for a couple of more years and worked on the Eastside. Thought it was worse off, but that's just me. Wasn't a big fan of living anywhere in Toledo though to be honest with you

When a town loses half its population, it's not the best and brightest that stick around, it's the slack-jawed inbreds.

Just like in any major city there are going to be nice areas and less nice areas. In Cleveland, along the coast and near the stadiums it's pretty nice. The rest of the city, not so much. Just like in New York, if you're on the upper east side, near central park, or Times Square, it's pretty nice. The rest of the city, maybe not so much.

And if Cleveland is so much nicer now than it was 1--20 years ago, then why has there been a steady exodus out and decline in population for about that long. Over the last few years all of the suburbs around Cleveland even began to shirk for the first time ever. No wonder LeBron wants out.

Oh, my bad. It's S. 6th St, only only one block from glorious and bountiful S 7th St. :P

I feel as though anyone saying Cleveland/Toledo/etc. has never been down to the Route 7 area we're talking about. It literally isn't close, it's easily the shittiest place in Ohio.

I'm amazed that this thread has gone four pages and no one has mentioned Mansfield. I've worked there for 15 years, and I have driven 124 miles every day to and from Powell rather than move to Mansfield. It's pretty sad when the largest employer in a "manufacturing" town is the hospital. If Gorman Rupp ever goes under, so will Mansfield. Unemployment and urban decay are apparent everywhere in town. It is really sad.
