From East Liverpool Down to Bellaire. That entire stretch of Rt. 7 along the river is depressing.

Stuebenville wins hands down. The town stinks, literally. As soon as you exit your vehicle you want to get back in to get away from the stench. I'm not sure, but I think it's combination of the locker room never getting cleaned at the football stadium....all the stinkin' Italians and their hair grease, plus all the scum on S 7th St.

The worst city in the state.

Lets not forget about all the brothers selling drugs and the sisters selling their skanky ass body on the street corners and none of them taking a shower afterwards.

WINNER!!! DING, DING, DING!!!

Of course, it is no better down in places Powhatten Point, Clarington, Hannibal, etc.
The employment rate from EL down to those places is probably less than 50%. A very large percentage of the population is on SSDI, welfare or some other government program. Most of the towns along this stretch were all once nice towns about 50 years ago, but they have not been able to keep up with the times. Jobs are gone (heck most of the jobs have been gone for a long time, it is nothing new). The best and brightest of these towns left a long time ago, leaving the elderly and the rift raft for the most part.

Marietta is a nice town though.

Because Marietta has the college.

But you're right, I don't think a lot of people have a real grasp of how bad things are in that area.

Trust me when I say that East Liverpool would LOVE to be Toledo. It would be like upgrading from a Chevy Cavalier to a Rolls Phantom.

You guys are fucking clueless.

Mr. 300, I'd like to see you say that to an Italian on the street in Steubenville, they'd be dragging the river for your sorry ass!

Of the major cities Cleveland has to be up there. I can't believe how far downhill the city has gone.

Definitely the Ohio River Valley, no question. I drove Rt. 7 just a month ago from Steubenville to East Liverpool. It's horrid.

Those saying Cleveland, what gives? Seriously, it's tons better than it was 10-20 years ago. The city itself(downtown) is a great place to hang out, and very clean. Helluva lot better than New York City, that place is the biggest dump of all.

Dennison and all areas encompassing that area. Once, at the Deersville general store, I found what appeared to be a small baby sock at the bottom of my ice cream cup. It is true that one minor instance like that isn't indicative of an entire town's state of affairs, but this town is the gateway to a place much, much worse: southern Tuscarawas county and the states that follow to the Ohio River.

Sorry to those from that area. God bless my grandfather, who calls Dover home, but the part of Ohio directly to its south is locked in the rustic early '90s and I'd rather be kidnapped and killed than live there.

Oh, no doubt. It's amazing the difference in a county. Going from Northern T-County to Southern T-County is a huge difference. I've always called it the gateway regarding rednecks and city folk. It all starts in southern T-County and spreads east and south!

Toledo. Worked on the East Side for a while, depressed me everyday driving over the bridge.
Had to laugh at this...the East Side of Toledo isn't even the worst part of Toledo. Not even close. Where is EastIsBest when you need him?
