Head to head is much better, since each team's goal is to win, not to cover the spread. Now, if you want to make it more challenging, and reward picking the underdog when it wins award points for the head to head you got right by the inverse of their percent chance to win at the start of the game. If the team you pick to win has a 35% chance to win and they do, you get 65 points, none if they lose. If you pick a team that has 70% chance to win and they do, you get 30 points.
Interesting idea.
I might try to set up a new section of the site for pick 'em games that will allow the site to handle all of the scoring automatically.
I like the confidence picks I’ve done in the past.
List them in order from 16 down to 1 with your most confident winner first....the games you aren’t sure of put near bottom. If you get way behind you can pick some decent upsets and put them up high to catch up
I think I like that more than picking against the spread. Would be easier to code that feature, as well.
I am way more in for spread picks. Could probably get on board with confidence. But spread is a different kind of research.
