We are 34 games into the season, so I thought I’d start a thread.

Some of my thoughts:

I’m fairly happy with the start at 20-14.

I’m pleased with Manzardo.  He’s making me feel better about the Josh Naylor trade.

Pitching has been decent. Hopefully Clase is now coming around.

I wonder what’s going to happen with Bieber?

Hosey is being his awesome self.  Kwan doing great.

Rochio needs to get going, along with Noel.

That’s all I can think of right now.

3 game series at Washington starts today.

Rocchio should be in Columbus to start last year (it was always Arias)! Noel also if he doesn’t get consistent ABs. Stop bunting. Stop pinch hitting in the 5th inning. Starting pitching starting to take shape. Ortiz is awesome and I’m so glad we made that trade! Manzardo has been great, hopefully the BABIP rises and his average climbs as a result. Santana has been bad, but still an on base machine.

Overall, I think they have been so bad in a lot of spots, to be 20-14 and not 16-18 or something is a testament to the identity this organization has built up. But they need to shore up some stuff

So I guess we lost the first game of the doubleheader and then won for a split with a game to be played later?

Up next is Detroit at home and have you seen the standings for the AL Central?

Catching the Tigers at the right time. They can’t keep this pace, right!?!?

Guardians downfall...average pitching and a below average offense again.

Trotting out on the daily guys like:

Nolan Jones - .189 BA

Noel - .160 BA

Naylor/Hedges at C - .175 BA

Thank God Rocchio was sent down.

Gavin Williams has been better as of late but that was a scary start there for a while. Luckily Allen, Ortiz, and Lively have been decent.

Bibee. WTF happened to that guy.

Clase looked broke for a while.

Bazzana and DeLauter both hurt....Juan Brito soon maybe?

Guess we eagerly await Bieber and Fry returning sometime in late summer?

Nolan Jones I think you gotta keep playing. Dude is smacking the ball. Noel has to go. If you arent playing him everyday, he shouldnt be on the roster. You play him everyday and run into 25 HRs with a lot of Ks and low OBP, or you dont have him on the roster.

Naylor has been good. OPS+ of 97 is pretty damn good out of the C position. Hedges is what he is lol

Rocchio should never have gotten a leash that long. Arias is so far superior all around. Less range, but less mental lapses also. And a cannon of an arm. Hopefully he breaks out of his slump after a really good start.

Bibee has stopped K'ing as much, walking more, and giving up more HRs. But Kluber I think is implementing a sinker with him, which hopefully helps the HRs and maybe walks. Wont help the Ks, but thats fine. Ill give him some time. Gavin same thing implementing a sinker and now a cutter also. Hes looked better the last few starts since throwing those a few times a game. I am hopeful. Ortiz was a steal of a trade - dude is gonna be a menace and is tapping into that swing and miss potential a lot earlier than anticipated. Allen and Lively -- just keep getting by with them. They are not long term answers, but keep throwing them while they are getting outs lol.

Clase and Smith both look bad, and they are in comparison to last season. Clase seems to have righted it a bit, Smith getting shelled. But the underlying metrics suggest that he has ALWAYS gotten hit hard, but last year it was all GBs, and this year they are elevating it. I dont know what he is doing, but faith Willis and Kluber can fix it. Gaddis, who I figured was due for major regression, has been by far the best!

Bazz out sucks. But CDL is in Columbus. Hopefully its a quick stop. I would expect him and Kayfus to be up very soon for Brennan/Wilson/Noel. Fry is supposed to be ready for MLB team in 2 weeks.

According to Hammy, Ohtani’s first pitch homer was the 5th time that’s happened this season by our pitchers.  WTF!

At the game tonight. That Dodger lineup is something.

The Dodgers are really good.

Please get Naylor out of the 2 hole.

I’m getting prepped for the Guardians to make the playoffs as a wild card and get smoked in the first round.

No one in the AL is particularly unbeatable. But it is so depressing playing teams like this, Braves a few yrs ago, Mets, etc. Its like, Guards ball is fun and winning, and we make the playoffs, and even advance a bit. But then you play a real team and its just a different sport. At no point did I think we could win either of the games yesterday. And if they win today, it will feel like a massive upset and "relief" they didnt get swept.

Agreed. LA lineup (like NY last year in playoffs) is in a different stratosphere than us. It gives the feeling of playing from behind the entire way. Of course when they jack the first pitch long, it actually is playing from behind.  My daughter went with me on Monday as i was explaining how the Dodgers have a payroll that is probably 3 times Cleveland's. When you're explaining this to someone who isn't familiar with baseball, you realize how ridiculous it is.

Yep, this year seems like all of them are in the NL. San Diego, NYM, Dodgers, etc. Dodgers also have the pitching. It’s just dumb. Like you said, the NYY had similar feel the last few yrs (though not this year).

Cleveland is 2 bats and a more consistent rotation from being able to compete/maybe even be favorites in the AL. That is doable. But they would have to hope for injuries or massive hipsters to compete with whoever comes out of the NL.

Kwan and Thomas both hurt. Will we FINALLY get CDL or Kayfus up to the bigs? This organization is so backwards, that I doubt it...probably Rocchio or Halpin.
