My wife had to call Delta and pretend she was my daughter....got a flight for tomorrow just after noon and they’ll book and shuttle a hotel but daughter and newly made friends afraid to leave because of how gigantic this cluster is. I think she is just going to wait it out...in the dark for next 18 hours.

People still on planes that landed at 2:00 pm....airport workers leaving. A mess. A Holiday Mess.

You can rent a car and be home in 10 hours.

I hate Atlanta and their airport enough as it is.   Your daughter is crazy for waiting it out.  Go to the hotel and chill.

Guessing someone lost their job. Early on said construction crew cut into something but then saying underground fire really assed up stuff big time.

Just spoke with her...they are hoping power back by midnight. She did go ask for hotel voucher and shuttle and rooms are nowhere to be found. They are making everyone remain in the partially lit areas of the airport. Her newly made friends went to seek out a rental car and they’ve been out since 2:00 pm. They did manage to get pizza and wings delivered from 2 miles away....took 2 hours and 10 min for them to get it there.

She’s in good spirits so we are too. Flight leaves noon tomorrow...hopefully

I can’t even imagine. Airports and traveling and people suck enough, I can’t imagine that cluster fuck. Good luck

Got lucky and was flying home via DTW today. I'm in ATL 85% of my trips for a connection. Sounds just miserable.

Chick fil a actually owned on Sunday and fed the stranded.

Airport passed out snacks, pillows and blankets as needed

The booty  goons ate too much fried chicken and knocked out the power.
