Damn. That was too easy.
I couldn't believe he only made 5 ASGs.

That's true. Still, the man won multiple MVPs. I would have thought that would count for more. Just a weird time to play the position, I guess.

Man, don't rub salt on that wound. I still don't like Mo for '95.
Question #61:
In the history of HOFers, there have only been two players who posted .300+ batting averages and 5+ HRs as pitchers who pitched at least 20 games.
One was Babe Ruth, who only did it once.
The other did it after the '50s. Who was it?

It seemed like when the Tribe played against him, they could never get him out.

Gibson? Drysdale?
Not up on my hitting pitchers of the 60’s
Earl Wilson was a pretty good slugging pitcher, but I don't think he ever hit .300.
Maybe Bob Lemon?

Up on it enough. Drysdale did it in 1965, batting exactly .300 and popping 7 HRs in 130 at-bats, all while posting a 23-12 record as a pitcher and leading the league in starts.

That’s MVP level stuff!

He did finish 5th in the voting. Had a sub-3.00 ERA, as well.
Unfortunately, Willie Mays decided to belt 52 HRs and bat .317 that year.

Finished behind Mays, Koufax, Marischal and Mo Vaughn

Yeah, I couldn't believe those stats when I read them. He could have been in the MVP voting for his pitching alone. The batting should have done it, as far as I'm concerned. That's too good to not give the MVP.
The kicker? He wasn't even the top PITCHER in votes that year.

And Eddie Murray.
Question #62:
Three players who played in the '90s have amassed at least 200 HRs and 2,700 hits over their careers. All three have been out long enough to be eligible for the Hall, but none is in, despite never being suspended for steroids.
Who are they?
